Are Good Poker Sunglasses Easy To See Through?

I tried out some cheap poker sunglasses the other night and they were really dark and hard to see through, so I don't think I 'll be wearing them again.
The ones pros wear can't be like this.

Does anyone else have any decent ones?
I'd like to get some which let nearly all the light through for you to see but are completely black on the outside.

I might see if theres a shop when I go to Las Vegas which does them specially made.

Good vs bad/cheap has nothing to do with how dark they are. I have 2 pairs of Reflective/mirrored Oakleys. One is black iridium and shuts out something like 90% light. The other is gold iridium, and shuts only something closer to 20% light. They are almost equally expensive. I bought the black iridiums for skiing on sunny days. Wore them after an eye exam, and was able to stare right at sun after having my pupils dilated. They are not for indoors including casinos. I'd recommend the grey or fire iridiums - the fire is very nice looking.

There are many quality mirrored sunglasses that you'd to fine with. My chest ones are the Oakleys, followed by Raybans, followed by around 10 pairs of Vintage Revos. Revos are now made very cheaply. If you can vintage on Ebay, they are worth the $. But they can go for lots of $. Personally, I can't wear cheap sunglasses, they bug the hell outta me. You can probably get a decent pair of Oakleys for around $80 - $125. Sometimes, you can get a deal on Ebay. Look at their website to find out how much light each lens lets in, and go with the light one....

Silly boy. That's like asking Amelda Marcos if 100 pairs of shoes are enough. My collection is below. The first (upper) 3 rows are all vintage Revos. I have 1 more broken Revo, very painful because the frame broke. And I lost a blue pair last summer (it was just like the round tortoises). In picture #2, you'll see my prized possessions. A lovely green and very, very rare gold mirror, another very rare pair is a gorgeous red. That pic does it absolutely no justice. My most expensive pair seen here is a Stealth lens shown on the bottom. Was hard to get the angle for best reflective coating in some of them. they also look a little dirty, but all but the blue one are in perfect shape, and scratch-free. BTW, the huge bright orange pair is the very 1st model of original Revo, I rarely wear that one.

Oh, the bottom row consists of my black iridium Oakleys (can't find the gold one), a blue mirror Rayban, and the one of the left is a Serengeti driver - the only non-reflective in the group. It's light sensitive, too, so certainly wouldn't work for poker.

Not sure why the pics came out like that. I resized in Paint. Oh well. By the way, in rows 1 & 3 on the far right, those 2 pair have the reflective mirror in magenta. They seem to have the least coatings of all the colors, and have to catch just the right angle for the camera..

In 1990 I bought a pair of the Oakleys that were in style then-cost me $110. Someone stole them a week later. I never pay more than $15 for sunglasses anymore.

Those are some nice sun glasses Divebitch! I like those blue ones! My friend has one similar to the orange colored one. Haha nice collection!

The charcoal Oakley's up front and center are pro.

That's just it. You gotta hang on to them. They have a way of 'not being found' if you leave them anywhere. I once had a pair of Revos that was a freak cross between a blue & a Stealth (baby blue mirrors in a black lacquer frame) - probably worth $1k if you could find them. Stolen. 2 blue aviators also lost.

That one's quite the collector's item. I don't wear it much as it's huge, not real flattering, but I love the color.

Hmm I could use a pair of glasses... problem is I dont wear contacts anymore... would make playing and seeing hard.

Sunglasses are and for ever shall be made for outdoor use.

I would think if you were in a situation with the TV lights are a going, any pair would do. Any other spot its all fluff and not necessary.

I feel like the best poker sunglasses would have the four suits emblazoned down the side and maybe a basic HUD for keeping tabs on players.

Those Oakleys in the middle front are nice but the rest are lame I'd never walk outta the house with any of those ugly things

My shades get scratches on them too easily and then i cant stand to wear them and throw them out. are there any that dont get scratches.

That sure is a big collection. I always end up losing them myself. I was wondering how dark they could be and still see myself.
I now where regular glasses and have the changing lenses. I notice though if it is too bright inside, it is real hard to see.

I have broke them though and can't afford new ones. I am saving up, lol.

Revos sometimes makes a brief claim that their lenses are scratch-resistant. Although I've even corresponded w/the sellers on Ebay that admit Revos scratch if you just look at them the wrong way. Any scratch in a reflective lens will be more noticeable. There are things you can do.
1) Never lay your glasses face down
2) Get a good case for them
3) Blow off dust and dirt before you clean them, so you don't wind up scratching them further by applying pressure with a grain of sand on them

Yeah, I stopped collecting them a few years ago. I've lost 3 pairs of Revos and had 1 stolen and it hurts. I am not wealthy, but love my old Revos. I've gotten maybe 1/2 my collection on Ebay. The rare gold pair I got for like under $100 3 years ago. I just saw 2 pairs on there for over $500 each. Do you mean you swap out the lens, or it's photochromic.? I have always thought that the use of sunglasses should be banned. It is cheating as far as I'm concerned. Why not wear a complete hockey mask?

IMAO the problem with glasses is that if you started using them your tells get even more obvious, because you don't work on your bodycontrol anmore, cause you think "I'm wearing glasses, nobody can see my expression"...
So they do the opposite of what they are made for. If you are very good in letting your body language work for your game you have a big advantage of the guys who always wear their glasses
