Going to Vegas for the first time - good places to play?
Hey all, so I am going on a vacation to Vegas in a few weeks, and I plan to spend a good chunk of my time playing poker.
I've never been to Vegas before, so I don't know which casinos have the best poker rooms. I am mostly looking to do some relatively cheap SNG's ($50-$150 buy-ins), and some low-stakes cash tables ($1/2 or $2/4). Which casinos do you recommend I check out? |

Check out the MTT's at Excaliber. If I remember correctly, they are only $35 no re-buy, short chip stacks and quick blinds. The whole thing takes about an hour and a half and they have 3 a day on Fri/Sat/Sun. You may want to call ahead to check all this as it was November when I went. Cheapest, quickest tourney I could find.
Also, most casino on Freemont have a $2/4 table which you can sit down with $40 and go for a while if you play semi-tight... unless the cards just flow your way, in which case you can be there all night :-) |

Good thread (with appropriate links) here.
Binions, ftw, btw. You might also want to check out the $60 tournament at Planet Hollywood, where there is a bounty on Michael Mizrachi. (a nice chance to play with a big name pro for little money, if that kind of thing interests you). Last edited by aliengenius : 29-01-2008 at 12:21 AM. |
