It sometimes gets a bit boring, but one needs to be patient.

An awful lot of the members here first came to the site because they saw one of our tournaments at a poker room and it made them curious.

That`s what first brought me here. After seeing the Cardschat tourney a few times in the lobby at Titan, I began to think, "What is this Cardschat ? What`s that all about."

Some people just want to grab the password and run but some will like the place and stay (as I did). We can put up with the first lot, if it helps us find some of the second.

Everyone has to be a newbie at some point. And alot have found the addy as I did from a poker site because of your freeroll. I am very new but also joined a different site that had freerolls. I went there twice and wasn't impressed and haven't been back and could care less about their freerolls. There is enough poker out there I don't need it. I haven't posted alot but have been reading and reading ever since i joined. I really liked the personalities here and it seemed like alot of fun to get to know people that you can play with.

But seriously posts shunning new members isn't the way you want to go to make people welcome. Now rethinking if I join a freeroll will i be shunned there because I am a newbie? Or will I be welcomed as a new member?

Guys, if you really want to be welcomed, there is a team event and you can play on our team:

Play for us and we will be grateful. Score points for us and we will be impressed. Win a tourney for us and the women will want to have your baby.

I teach English at a public university and I just like to come on here and read what people write. Sometimes I don't think I have anything important to say, but I know that the 2-3 freerolls I have played I really enjoyed the atmosphere, which is part of the reason I joined the site. There are billions of things one can do with one's time and I like to balance between the myriad interests I have. Work takes up most of my time, but it's nice to come on here once in a while and at least learn about other people's lives. It doesn't mean that I am a freeloader. I would gladly pay a small membership fee. And I am so bad at poker that once I am in a tourney for CC members, it will be like giving them money

I just signed up for this, and didnt even know they had freerolls. Just figured it looked like a good place to post and converse about poker!
Glad to be a new member

No membership fee required. You are welcome to enjoy the site for free.

All that is ever asked is that, if you should want to open a new account at a poker room, you might consider using the links from here (found behind the Bonuses tab at the top of the page).

Thanks for the info Egon, haven't come across this info before sounds like great fun. I have played in leagues for different kind of card games since I started on the computer and enjoyed the people as much as the games. This is the closest thing I have found to that in poker. Is there a certain place on the site where this type of info is posted? I see I am going to have to d/l more poker sites!! lol

All of the events actually run by CC can be found in the "Our Events" section of the forum.

There is also a section near the bottom of the front page www.cardschat.com which lists those games which are upcoming in the next 7 days.

The Online Forum Challenge is a bit different. That`s not run by us, so doesn`t have its own spot on the forum. Several of us normally play in it, though, so there will be at least one active thread about it when a game is in the offing.

To find active threads, click on the "New Posts" tab in the middle of the page near the top. It will list for you the topics which other members have been discussing most recently.

Having people join the forum for the sole purpose of getting in the freerolls is nothing new to Cardschat...It is the biggest problem of every poker forum out there...And the members know who you are!!! .....Now having said that, most online players DO get their start playing freerolls,I myself included...I was a freeroll whore, now I just leave off the freeroll part. ...Just kidding, seeing if you're truly reading this or not. ...People see your name listed at a site, run right over and join....BUT,if you truly want to improve your game, talk to alot of "interesting",knowledgable, and pretty fun people..then Cardschat is the forum you'll want to become an active member in!....And then the freerolls are just icing on the cake...

Freerolls are worth much. At bodogs nightly $1,000 freeroll they have 4,000 players. That makes the value per player of only $.25. To make a bunch of posts just to get in a freeroll makes no sense. Coming here to learn and have fun putting in my two cents is worthwhile.
