| Getting Bored With Poker Are you sometimes get bored? I have it right now, I can start a game bot can't stay with it for long, I play for 20min and get out because I don't want to play anymore... Should I just take a longer brake from the game? Do you have it or have it? |

| Taking a break could help. Have you tried different types of games? I find that when I'm getting bored with, say, hold 'em, it makes it more fun to switch to stud, omaha, or something else for awhile. (Do microlimits if you're not comfortable with your play at different games.) |

| set yourself a challenge, play a different game using play money and only change games again when you have won x amount of play money. But honestly if you are bored with poker, you obviously lack the passion for it not to be boring. Do you play because your friends play ? Do you play because you enjoy the game? ( it doesnt sound like it ) do you play for profit? if so you wont be profitable if your attitude towards the game isnt right maybe try something different like monopoly |

| Can't add much to the 2 previous replies. NLHE for me is often a source of boredom and frustraion (especially when the victim of bad beats). I prefer other games where I feel I have a better (not total of course) sense of control of the outcome. Also important to examine the reasons you play at all, and whether or not you're truly enjoying it or just thinking you should be. |

| re: Getting Bored With Poker Are you playing for fun or for profit? I started out playing for fun, then got too serious and played purely for money and burned out. Now I'm back to playing for fun and really enjoying myself. You might ask yourself what it is you want out of poker. To combat listlessness, you've received some good advice here: take a break, set a goal, or learn a new form of poker. I recommend against playing because you feel you "have to". |

| A break here and there is always good. I just took a few months off because I have been busy doing renovations to my home. That pretty much kept me busy during all my waking hours. I find now that I too only want to play for shorter periods on-line. That is one of the great things about cash games. You can get up and leave whenever you see fit. GL2U! |

I've always wanted to try Omaha but just haven't gotten around to it. What do you think is a good goal to hit in play money before moving to micro limits? I was thinking 100K. Is that too low or too high? |

| im never bored with poker. thats the whole purpose of multi tabling. downside is... u'll get used to that amount of tables after a while, and u'll have to open up even more tables in order to keep your full attention on your hands. i was doing 2 start with, then 4, now im at 6. haha. |

Season 1 Season 2 Season 3 Season 4 Heck, even if watching Poker is all you did, you wouldn't be any different from fans of other sports (like football and baseball). |

| I get bored with poker sometimes too. And I find that when I do get bored, its best to take a break. When I get bored I tend to make unwise moves, such as following through a gutshot straight draw, or callin a huge raise with 8-3 off suit. Ande then i know its time to take a break. |

| I started to learn HORSE after watching some tourneys, and it really kick started my interest in poker again. Learning multiple games and switching them periodically keeps you on your toes. Also, possibly reading books/watching poker can help too. Just don't get several books at once like I did.....I still need to finish half of them. |

Live poker is never boring for me. If you get bored at your local pubs and can afford it, go play in a bigger casino in your area. I am ALWAYS entertained in AC when I go. Even when playing low stakes, just the cocktails are good to look at. |

| When you get bored of poker , you seem to play anyways because you know you love to play just right now your not feeling it . For me it only happens like once or twice a year MAX. so what i do is take 2 to 3 days of and just find a different activity example i like to right short stories of about 50 pages so i take three days off writing when im not working as oppose to poker and when im done the story usually im able to get bk into poker and play some of my best poker even ! |

| ya boring as shit but playing more tables helps if u can handle it and assuming your a winning player would u rather be bored playing poker or working minimum wage delivering pizzas, i would take being bored playing poker anyday. but yes i do go through boring spells where i have to take a break. Also changing your style might work if you can handle a more aggressive style that might make it more interesting but ull be hit with a lot of decisions that u really dont want to make |
