fulltilt. mtt or sit n gos

hey guys. I've been playing Fulltilt for like 1 month now. I've won one 5 dollar MTT tourney but was stupid and decided to play micro cash games. As a result, half my bankroll is gone. I love MTTs but they take WAAY too long. So the question is what is an easier way for me to recover my bankroll? 180 person SIT N GOS or MTTs?

i would say the 180 person SnG is the way to go.like you said the MTTs take to long and if you play all that time and end up going out near the bubble you wasted your time for nothing.

I would have to go with MTTS i meant dont get me wrong 180 mans are good to but MTTS on full tilt sometimes will contain only like 300 ppl and usually last like 30 mins more than 180 mans and the prize pool is just that much better if you final table a MTT then a sitngo..I notice sitngos have more variance so better chance of u getting sucked out by the sitngo regulars..

Umm, variance in MTT's is way higher than SnG's. Of course a 180 SnG is a small MTT so variance is a bit higher there than in a STT SnG. But large field MTTs are the highest variance form of the game. Put it this way: with MTTs, a good ITM is 18-20%. With SnGs, the top players are ~50%.

If you want the lowest variance way to quickly build a bankroll, and full ring cash isn't your thing, multi-tabling single table SnGs at a stake you are comfortable with is probably your best bet. Of course this assumes you play well and understand STT SnG strategy, as well as the ability to multi-table. If you're not comfortable multi-tabling, then start out single tabling and slowly add tables as you progress.

"Recover bankroll" Personally I'd try to just adopt (or stick with) that attitude "constantly working on trying to improve my game'... OR.. "I need to find a game that I can focus on where I can find an edge & hopefully have a decent ROI in".

If you've played a bunch of SNG/STT and have a good understanding of them I'd consider playing the 27plyr. sng's. They generally have far worse players in them & the regs. who play them have much higher ROI's than the regs. who play the SNG/STT.
Important to make necessary adjustments for 27plyr. sng's... you'll be playing shorthanded a few times if you make it ITM so it's essential to apply pressure & pick good spots when tables are short so you'll have a decent enough stack when back to full tables again.

I would try the 180man´s, but not on fulltilt (traffic). Transfer the bankroll to PokerStars and play the turbo 180man´s (for instance $2.20), these are a good bankroll builder in my opinion and experience...

Have you tried the 3.40$ rush SnG MTT's?
They are much faster than normal tournaments, but you still get to play a lot of hands.
(I have no personal experience, but some people on here seem to have been quite sucessfull in theese.)

That only comes in to play when playing an uncapped entry tourney, not a 180 seat SnG. The amount of traffic doesn't determine how well you'll do there. There are 180 seats. Thats it. If anything, the more traffic, the faster the games fill, so its actually beneficial.
I assume you are really referring to the level of play at FT? (which is by the way the same as Stars, as the big two sites).

The answer to these and your question comes down to preference.
Which do you prefer playing in and do better at, MTT's or SnG's?
No-one else can decide that for you, as much as they will try.

I feel this is all relative because, as PokerOrifice points out, you are on a mission to recover losses, which NEVER ends well.

For me, MTT's offer better value but take a while to complete.
If your that impatient to recover your losses, attempt the SnG's.

I like 180 sng. Do not take to long and you get a nice return.

The problem I have found with sng's on ftp is that they all seem to be turbo at least for omaha hi/lo. Even if it says regular it usually 5 min blinds on other sites regular sng's have 10 min blinds. Since I really don't like turbos I tend to stay away from them, but ftp has some decent tourneys.

I dont know what you are talking about, but clearly you have missunderstood something.
So let me try to explain.
Lets say you want to 10-table the 180 man SnG's.
In order for 10 SnG's to start you need to wait longer if the traffic is low, maybe even longer than it takes for one tourney to finnish.
So by playing at Stars, where there is more traffic you wont have to wait forever for the tables to fill up.

The blinds increase every 6mins. in reg. speed but if you take a closer look, the blinds go up in smaller increments on Fulltilt than they do on Pokerstars sng's.

yea i definitely prefer MTT. Idk why but i take them more seriously. Like i said, the only problem is it takes 3 to 4 hrs. How long do SNGs USUALLY take

Maybe try the satellites then (if you've got a decent understanding of satellite play). The good thing about them is -> over half the field is usually clueless re: how to play a satellite (in the micros > $6/$7 buyins).. many will keep playing hands letting their stack dwindle, others will get a decent stack & then spew it away playing too many hands (< as if there's a benefit to placing 1st in a 1 in 4 payout satty,.. they win a couple pots & then can't find the fold button).
Some players on Fulltilt almost strictly play the satellites (& many of them build a decent roll in the process).

For MTT play you really need a decent bankroll. The micro buyin mtt's are pretty brutal, you get 4 & 5 to a flop even in later levels, tons of highblind limpers, etc. The $26donkaments have a blind structure that pretty much sucks.. once you're halfway thru you'll have half the table on resteal-sized shove stacks with a couple/few SS's as well.

The micro buyin rebuy MTT's might be the way to go.

Note that OP is talking about 180 player SnGs, not single table ones, so there's every chance they run for hours as well.
