I've recently realized when playing that on a showdown in the villian mucks their cards, you can hit the "last hand" button and see what they had.

Should this be allowed? Live mucked hands on showdown aren't shown, so why can one see them on full tilt poker?

Also, why can only the players at the table see the mucked hand? If you are railing, you will not be able to see the hand.

It's weird, I don't think you should be able to see the hand, what do you guys think?

Thanks.

You are only able to see their hand if they don't fold. You can see it if you call their bet or they call yours. This is due to the rule in poker that any player at a table can demand to see a hand that goes to showdown, even if mucked. The rule is there to prevent collusion.

On the pokerstars Big Game Tony G actually asked for a hand to be opened up when Jason Mercier (?) mucked his hand after tony called a bet on the river.

Live mucked hands on showdown aren't shown, so why can one see them on Full Tilt Poker?

Technically you can ask the dealer to see the losing hand in a live game if you were were the winner, and I believe anyone dealt in can ask also, as far as I know, but I hear it is bad etiquette to do that if you have already won the hand. So I guess poker sites all just show it instead of having a button pop up after the hand is over allowing the table to see the hand, if they so wish. Most people would probably just press the button anyway with no fear of being berated for being the jerk who asked to see the losing hand.... so anyone who was dealt into the hand online can see the mucked cards automatically if it went to showdown, no one else can see them unless the player chooses to click the SHOW button...than anyone observing can see them also.

EDIT: Six Hurdles pretty much said it while I was still typing mine.. but u get the jist right?

It's standard procedure at Full Tilt.

No different then in PT3.

So you've been playing on there for how long without seeing the 'last hand' feature?

Thanks guys. Didn't know that it was legal live as well. I knew the last hand feature was there and have used it before but I don't play FT a lot.

It's not just on Full Tilt, it's on just about every site out there. I haven't seen a site that doesn't have that feature.

I've always been able to use the "last hand" function fom the rail, at least on Stars (did it today more than several times while observing a CC League game) and I believe I have on FT too.

Glad you discovered this facet of online poker. :)

Don't know about Carbon but UB now has the table image also. bodog is similar to Carbon I think--tried it once while playing and never did again--pretty bad. :)

Even though Bodonk improved upon their LastHand feature it is still wayyyyyy worse than Carbon's

Must be a long time since you've played on them. They don't have an autoreplayer feature but the cards are pictured in HH (Carbon & Cake & Titan are all pretty similiar, with Cake (or Doyles anyways) bein' the worst... but nowhere near as bad as Bodonk)

i dont like this feature on poker sites. if a player doesnt want their losing hand to be revealed, they shouldnt have to show it. such as on on all in plays...the same rules as live cash games should be applied...where u can muck a losing hand.

You can see the last hand function from the rail. But you can't see what the loser mucked when he mucks. However, if you are sitting at the table when you use the last had feature, you would see what hand the loser mucked. Or if you have PT3 or HEM, it auto pops up on the screen what both players had.

Took you how long to discover this?

It's valid live, also, although table etiquette does not usually make it cool to ask.

Both players have to be live at showdown. If you bet on the river and the other player mucks on the river, you won't be able to see what he mucked.

With some aggressive opponents, it can be worthwhile not making that last bet just to see what they held. You know -- those hands that are played hard, and the other guy inexplicably just checks on the river, despite re-raising on prior streets. Huh? You want to know (and you are worried!), and his failure to bet can give you that chance. It's not about getting value at that point -- it's about getting information.

Almost every site has the option of looking at the other players folded cards if they call your bet. If the fold you cant see them.

Lots of sites provide this option. If a hand goes to showdown it must be shown.

I think they have this feature at UB as well. Only you can check the cards BEFORE the hand is played! ;)

Sorry....sorry.....couldn't resist!

Im ok with with because it prevents "teams" or bots to play with each other knowing the muck cards ensures the game to be fair.
