Frustrated Lately, it seems that I cannot win a race, and even when i have the best of it my hands won't hold up. I can't count the number of times I've gotten my money in good and I've lost these past few weeks. I know that it's variance, but it's just so irritating. It really gets me in a negative mind set about playing. I'm afraid if I keep this negative mind set that it will affect my game and cause me to make poor decisions. Does anyone have any suggestions to keep my game sharp while I go through these streak, or is a break the only thing that will help?

Maybe try not to get into too many races. Try to keep the pots on the small side and know your opponent. Does he/she call everything, play a lot of hands, will they call a reraise. Sometimes though it just doesn't matter, those are the hands you have to get past and hopefully you start filling in your hand. Good luck on the tables

the best cure for this imo, and I;ve seen this done before and work and have done it myself, but taking a break from poker even for a day if you cant wasit that long helps. If you stop for a week, get your mind off of it then come back refreshed you will be amazed at the mindset you'll now have compared to before. Your either going to waiste more money if you stay mad and play or it might turn around if you keep playing, since it is only variance/luck hitting you hard right now. Just try it and come back to tell us how it helped or didn't

re: Frustrated poker A small break never hurts. Time away does refresh you. The hard part is to actually find the correct time to do that. Dont keep going thinking that this is your day to turn it around because more bad beats are sure to follow. Rest up then get back at it. Week to 10 days is usually what i go with. So good luck on the felts.
