Free Roll Tournament Rant!

Lately I have played mostly at Partypoker or UltimateBet. I have enjoyed playing at both. Well besides the morons who go all in every hand (how people find enjoyment in that is beyond me) but all of them have that issue.

But lately at both they have had Free Roll problems. A few days ago I joined one that started at 3 pm at Ultimatebet. About 4:30 it froze up. I was doing solid enough. Was in about 100th out of the remaining 900. So I figured it last for a little bit so I went to dinner. Came back and it was still frozen. Found out from a buddy that it unfroze about 2 a.m. Unfortunately it has done that to me 5 times in the last month. And I play about 4 Tournaments a week there.

Party has free rolls now as well. I joined one tonight in hopes of doing something to keep me interested since nothing is on TV. Also it gives me something to do while playing Silent Hill 2 again. Well for the 3rd time since the update in mid tournament they just cancel it. No reason given or anything. They just decide to get rid of it.

I personally blew through my $100 roll about 6 months ago after a fast start I just went cold. So after winning a lot lately I thought about depositing. But after seeing the issues they have lately I am rethinking me ideas.

I do not mind that 4 of my last 5 hands I lost on the river after being ahead. Thats poker. I do not mind losing to a slightly better kicker. It's poker. But the Tournament issues are annoying.

suggestion: deposit into a different site
party is one of the sheistiest sites out there IMO
i play at titan and get disconnected once in a while but nothing serious;
the support is very helpful and has several times given me refunds for tournies when i froze up
i have not deposited yet, but when i do i might also consider Pokerstars - they apparently have the best client and the best support to back it up

Deposit at Stars, loads of cheap torneys $1-$5, easy enough to make the money, no connection problems, top notch support.

I will only deposit at Pokerstars. I have never experienced, or heard of any, problems with their support, connections or software.

I have to say that Titan is one of, if not the best new sites out there. They are making an extremely strong push in terms of customer satisfaction, offering Final Four packages, March Madness freerolls, etc. Also, they have one of the largest affiliate bases of all sites(other than Absolute Poker and possibly Stars), and have been doing their best to reward those affiliates who have rewarded them. I would recommend Titan for both their features as well as their customer service. A TON of people have flooded to Stars and I find that they are getting crowded beyond my liking. Titan has an average flow and you wont get the 4000+ players that AP or Stars might get you.

You do have the choice now of at least 40 plus sites to play at. Spread your money around and never put all your eggs in one basket. My Personel favourite is Poker Stars.. They have everything there.

I have tried my hand at quite a few sites and always lose my money at all of them sooner or later.....It could be the sites, but I think it might be because I am bloody useless, as I eventually hit a bad spot which lasts a week or more, where I cant do anything right, and like a fool try to play through it instead of going somewhere else. Which I s why I havent been around much over the past 3 - 4 months as I am at present what you might call financially embarrassed.

I to was in those games on the bad days at party poker but I also got paid the next day for my position and a equal division of the prize money divided by the remaining players. NOT TO BAD but alas now they pulled all the march madness real money freerolls

Personally I think Party is the worst site I have tried. Full of nasty people who seem to have no regard for poker at all.

That is only my opinion mind you...

Try Absolute poker

they do a good depost deal .....if not they have 38 Free rolls a day .... every 30 mins only $50 but you can always find a game.....

Absolute Poker keeps locking up on me, so i have given up on it, i did enjoy the freerolls once you got past the 6 people going AI

IMO titan and pokerstars are solid never been booted or any problems at all. Thats where my money goes!!!
But just a side note I logged onto party poker just last week for the first time in months since I gave them 100 bucks got my bonus refered a friend and after about a month the darn place HATED me and took it all away. But I Played the WSOP FreeRoll they have going the other night and the ALL IN FREAKS were out and about doing what they loved to do. After about a half hour of freaky stuff. I decided if ya can't beat them join them......well it paid off did it a few times and got a good lead, 7 hours later I place 7th overall and a spot to the final Qually on Saterday which takes top 20 to the event. So now I think I will give it a serious shot!!

busted out early before the first break....oh well at least it didnt cost me anything to get in

Doubled up really quick then was dealt 10s js raised 200 preflop, 1 caller ...flop came jc 9s 8s

Buddy went all in I had him covered with 1600 in change so I called with a s8 draw flush draw and top pair I might pull it off....NOPE didnt happen

Turn came and he landed his Qd for 2 pair

Few hands later was dealt AQs raised 200 again 1 guy re raised me all in

I figured what the heck He shows the ROCKETS so my only hope is a flush but no luck today flop turn and river was a rainbow of low cards

It was fun though like always

Try the freerolls at Absolute - always full (2000 people) every hour, thought lately they have been cut back to every OTHER hour, and never no probs at that site - diff software, i dont know, but always reliable.

Well, Free Rolls have pissed me off again. I got busted from 1st place to out in 5 hands.

I wouldn't have minded but 3 of the 5 hands I got beat with Runner Runner!

Losing with pocket Kings against J10(all in) I can deal with. Even when I hit my 3rd king on the flop. Then a 9 and Q hit runner runner.

Losing AK vs all in with pocket 8s I can deal with when nothing hits for me.

Losing Pocket 10s vs A10 is no biggie. Aces always hit against me.

But when I lose back to back hands where I have Pocket Queens and people go all in with JQ and they hit a straight on the 1st one and a flush on the 2nd one with runner runners needed I just get annoyed.

I just recently started playing @ P4E ( poker4ever)..I had 2 tourneys freeze up last week,1 freeroll and 1 buy-in..P4E deposited money in my account for both games for the 'inconvenience'.Needless to say I was impressed and I continue to play there.How many times has that happened at other sites w/no explanation from them let alone the site giving you a few dollars to compensate?...

Titan has been terrific for me. Got diconnected a couple of times got a refund and a bonus ... customer service has been excellent. Only play free rolls at Pokerstars because don't have the cash to deposit on more than one site.

I play several tournaments on Ultimatebet every day, I don't think it's never froze..maybe its your internet provider..but yeah. . .Def. don't play at Party.
