Free poker books came to me that I never ordered??? Today, in the mail, I got a box with Doyle Brunson listed as the return address. Inside the box are nicely bound hard cover copies of supersystem 1 and 2. I never ordered these and no poker site I play at informed me that I won these. I play at Doyle's Room sometimes...but, they never sent me an email or anything saying I won a free prize. I hope they dont think I suck so bad they just think I should start reading Has anyone else gotten these free books? Is this common? ps. there was no note or invoice inside the box.

re: Free poker books came to me that I never ordered??? There are multiple ways you could have won these, being the first to reach $100 in rake for the month is possible... - http://www.doylesroom.com/blog/index...per-system-ii/

re: Free poker books came to me that I never ordered??? Hmm...ok, i suppose these gifts are rake related. They are autographed too. Very nice actually... What do you think are the odds that pokerstars might send me Vanessa Rousso?

But hard-cover and autographed, wow. Guessing it had to come from Doyle himself. I doubt you can order something like that from just anywhere. Funny, Doyle's Room doesn't even have a 'store' like Tilt & Stars. So the really weird thing here is not even a note. Ya know, to say thank you and ensure future loyalty (and rake), word of mouth, etc. You'd think they'd want to be damn sure you knew this was a gift from them - and a very nice one at that. Just what have you been spending over there anyway? |

Ya, Doyle Brunson moves more currency in an hour of poker than I make in a year at my job. Basically, if someone puts a live straddle on, I am de facto all in. I don't play high stakes. I play mostly 100NL and 200NL. I've never had more than $700 in my account, and never deposited more than $100 at a time. My rakeback for Doyle's Room last month was about $25-$30 per week. And, yes....no note. I asked all of my freinds and none of them are responsible. It is odd that there just isnt any note or explanation given in the box.

re: Free poker books came to me that I never ordered??? Grinder101--- I wouldnt call it a "Bankroll" at this time...i would call it a budget. I am prepared to invest a certain amount weekly that I can afford to lose. I just cannot get into playing micro stakes...it isnt any fun for me, and...if i am not enjoying my poker playing experience, then why play?

Lol, sometimes companies just send stuff out on accident. A few motnhs ago I got a computer case from a internet computer store although I had recieved the one I ordered half a year ago. I did see somewhere that you can get super system books by playing, I guess you just backed up into that promo by accident

I remember playing in something in July that had as an extra prize those two books. for up to 6 places i think it was, maybe you were in that. I did not find the 2nd book to be too enlightening, I am afraid to buy the first for fear that it will be the same. Lets face it, very little of the info is actually written by Doyle and none of it is in depth. Hmmm, might be worth a new post
