Free Money for Catching The Shrog!

If you've read my goals for March in either my blog or the March thread, I've decided I want to play strictly 25nl. I want to see how many hands I can play in a month, without spending time on other forms of poker.

So here's the deal: At any time during the month of March, if you search for me on PokerStars (The Shr0g) and see that I am playing anything other than NLHE on a 9-person table, take a screen shot. Put it in this thread and I will ship you $25 on Stars. By the way, photo-shopping or any other fakes of me being bad don't count.

I stated at the beginning that I wanted to play ONLY 25nl. The only exception to this is if I have to drop down to 10nl or somehow have moved up to taking shots at 50nl, as neither of those will violate my goal. I really don't see either of those two happening this month, but who knows.

Hopefully, there won't be much activity in this thread...but this bet for myself officially begins...now!

If you play 30,000 hands or more I'll ship ya $5. if you play less you ship me $8. (I want odds!)

For the people that seem confused: I mean I want the same bet as shrog.
IE ice pays me $10 to play 30k of 25nl

14 tables at 25nl that prop bet wouldn't last very long lol, maybe you should make it 90k.

Alright, I wasn't planning on making a huge prop bet thread, simply because I didn't want to steal combu's thunder from last month..and 30k hands isn't all that much for some people, just something I want to get myself to do. However, I will certainly take action from Ice and Enty, and anyone else that wants it.

I have Ice down for $5 to $8,
Enty down for $10 to $16.

I'll take these, and if anyone else wants action on 1.6-1 odds (for example, you give me $15 if I make it, I pay you $24 if I don't), just post in here.

Here's the thing. I didn't want to make a prop bet for myself in my third month of playing ring and start getting out of control. I'm starting to feel comfortable, and while 30k may not seem like that much, it's going to be a big difference for me. I was really just offering a bet for myself to all of you to keep myself on track. Of course, since Ice and Enty asked for some action, I'll give it to them. In the future, I might devise a plan for a prop bet with a certain winrate and even more hands, but for now, I just want to work on developing my game while still reaching the monthly goals I set.

I am not betting against Shrog if he will make it or not. I'm 90% sure he will.
I am making the bet against Ice to bet if I can make it or not.

haha okay so forget all my jumble. Ice, appreciate the motivation, and I'll take it. Everyone else..be on the lookout for me being lazy. Hint: I am still a sucker for $11 SNGs and MTTs...

Hopefully you don't end up playing someone from on here on PS on any other tables than 25nl...even if you win, you lose

I know this thread's pretty much dead, but I'm already planning on shipping Ice $5 in two weeks. Due to school, there is no way I'm reaching 30k hands. Well, I could, but I'd be playing way too many tables and after a recent sweat with the Monkey himself, I decided I need to play less tables and work on my game some more. The jump was just too big. Anyway, thanks everyone for keeping an eye on me, as I have been sticking to my goals so far this month, but need to change some for myself. I can no longer offer $25 to anyone for the rest of the month, as I am focusing on my winrate and also my profit for the month, so I may be playing some rakeback satties here and there. Thanks again for keeping me in line so far, but plans change.

nice try...but the first quality i think a winning player should have is self control

if you make a bet you have to pay off when you lose

you could however pull a bill clinton and play on 6 player tables or hu because the wording could be construed that way...

or you could gamble that no one cares or is too nice to enforce your self inflicted straight jacket....

I guess I should restate. I put this challenge up for myself to motivate me to do something that I no longer want to do, in my best interest. My game is not the same and I need to get back to the way I was playing last month. This said, I need to not worry about how many hands I'm playing, but rather playing my best. If this means taking a break, playing something else to relax for a bit, that's in my best interest. I am shutting this down early in order for me to succeed as a poker player instead of worrying about 'x' number of hands.

Completely agree with you shrog.

You know what's best for your game at this point and you should go with it.
Prop bets have a nature of getting in the way of you playing your A game. So just say fk it and rake in the dough while playing your best.

Thanks man. Yea, obviously if this was an actual prop bet and there was action I wouldn't be doing this. Since it's just for me, I'm going the route that will allow me to play my best/profit the most. Maybe sweat tomorrow?

This is a really good idea and I lack discipline too.

So im going to have to borrow your idea and make a thread too, its going to be a little different...

If anyone catches me playing anything except 100nl/200nl on Stars i'll pay them $500 cash directly from my Stars account. There will be a few small exceptions like using FPP's to get into a tourney and maybe a few others that ill figure out soonish when I make the thread.


I think it will dissuade me from playing the higher stakes, at least until im rolled. I just have decided that I can't trust myself, lol sad.

Ok, I'm officially hunting both of you for the rest of this month. But I don't think you should be sneaking off to FTP to play your tourneys there either. What is your line on this, both of you?
