| Frank’s Internet Gambling Hearing Paves Way for Vote Tomorrow’s hearing in the House Financial Services Committee on Internet gambling is expected to pave the way for a committee vote on Chairman Barney Frank’s legislation to regulate the industry, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act of 2009 (H.R. 2267). A statement by Chairman Frank last week indicated that he will seek to enact his bill prior to June 1, 2010, the new date set for required enforcement of UIGEA. He stated, the delay “…will give us a chance to act in an unhurried manner on my legislation to undo this regulatory excess by the Bush administration and to undo this ill-advised law.” To get live updates from the hearing, be sure to follow our Twitter hashtag #gamblinghearing. | I also recieved a email from PPA letting me know they have delayed any actions for 6 months. They is good news for all of us poker players. It gives them more time to work for our poker rights and maybe have more members send letters to there congress supporting online poker. |

| I think the indian gambling interests in the US would end up making money if it were legalized. Why wouldn't they make their own poker rooms if it were legal? As an American I'd much rather play on a poker room hosted by harrah's or some other American company than some company hosted in Aruba. |
