FR or 6-Max

I'm real stuck with this. At the moment i'm looking to build my bankroll. I've played 8k hands at 2nl ( i know it's a small sample but i've played soo many more than that) An I CRUSHED it, after 8k hands i was 25 BI up. So my roll is now at $167 after cashing nicely in some MTTs too.

I'm planning on moving up to 5nl but do you think I should stick to FR because it's what I know or begin moving over to 6-Max as it seems much more lucrative. BtW I 3-table quite comfortabley and manage about 500 hands a night.

I'm guessing this is all relative to my play style etc and my knowledge of the game but from your P.O.V. and personal experience, What do you think?

Any PRO's and CON's of either game too that i'm not aware of?

Urgh another question! Do you think I should play until I have the sufficient amount of BI earnt JUST from cash games before moving up or also take my tournament winnings into account? Or treat them both as seperate? I think doing so will mean i've truly beaten that level. Maybe I need a much larger sample to justify crushing a certain limit. Then again I'm not sure, this is the first time i've properly taken BRM into real consideration.

Opinions please

Full Ring is easy money, with easy decisions, and lower variance. 6-max can give you higher win-rates, but its also harder to multi-table. I'd stick with full ring for now, unless you already play a looser style & are comfortable playing mediocre hands.

re: FR or 6-Max poker

A question I asked myself a lot recently.

FullRing - The slow and steady pace to build up that bankroll. Dependable, lowest variance amongst all the games, extremely fishy even at 50nl. High Vpp/hand potential. Good games up to 200nl ... 400nl+ unsure but I do not think the games vary as much.

6max - More action, quicker paced game. Higher variance, but higher reward potential. Less VPP/hand potential than FR. Fishy at 25nl (only level I played 6max). If you are going pro, seems like 6max is the way to go especially at higher (400nl+) levels.

I just switched from FR to 6-Max so heres my take on it.

Like C9 said FR is alot easier, you can play nitty and basically nut-peddle and make pretty good money. For me it just got to the point where I got bored of playing FR so I decided to try 6-Max.

6-Max is alot more like actual poker imo. It is a much more dynamic game and many people just are complete spewtards. It can be a tough move to make from FR to 6-Max especially if you played FR nitty. I played FR like 20/17 and stole around 40-45% so I was used to getting in some of the spots that come up in 6-Max.

The big adjustment I think you have to make is adjusting to 3Betting. People are going to 3Bet alot wider and you just have to adjust. Most people at 25NL (Where I'm playing now) 3Bet and adjust to 3Bets horribly and they can really be exploited.

The last thing I've noticed is that my 6-Max graph has me winning NSD and losing SD while FR was the complete opposite. Also if your interested I know of a free 6-Max guide that's really good so just PM me.
