FPP Dilema Ok, as some of you know I am going to be going for Supernova by the end of the year and I'm kind of torn with what I should be doing with FPPs lately. I currently play in the 5400 FPP qualifiers to the Sunday Million and then trade the 215 T$ for $214 cash. My current record is 12/25 in these tournaments. I think as a platinum star these are the best option as the platinum star bonus isn't that great compared to the amount of money i can win from the tournaments. As a supernova however, I will have access to better bonuses and concierge. I also, lose some playing time where I would be accumulating profit and FPPs while I am playing in one of the FPP tournaments, so although it might be a little better return than the bonuses, I might be losing more in profits/collecting more FPPs by playing in the 5400s. I know theres been a few threads on this before, but any thoughts on this whole issue? I'm thinking as a Supernova I would probably benefit from just taking the SN bonus or concierge instead of playing the 5400s and have been saving up FPPs for a little while now instead of playing the tournaments so that I have a bank of them when I actually hit Supernova next month.

no they are quite a bit faster than an hour (turbo, and they stop when when 4 are left), and you can always save up and play several at a time. @ 12/25 you are probably better off with the cash bonus imo, because the extra amount you spend playing the sat probably won't make up for the lost in hourly, and it definitely reduce variance. It would be pretty easy to figure it out if you just do some simple math--how many you play at a time, how long they take, the increase in cent/FPP, and your regular hourly.

just forget about fpp's, don't do anything with your fpp's for like 6 weeks, then either mass multitable the sitngos or trade it all in for big cash injection. Seriously people need to stop worrying about fpp's so much and just make money playing, then worry about the fpp's later. (as a direct answer, i say your better with the bonus)

I forget what the limit is, think the item has to be at least a few hundred dollars, but anything you can concierge you probably should, since it's basically the rate of the 4k bonus without having to clear anything. And personally I'm in a similar boat and we talked a little about it. I'm leaning towards just saving for the bonus being the better option. As much fun as it is to make $214 in the matter of half an hour with little risk, it also sucks when you lose 4-5 in a row. Just when you look at your BR, treat the fpps as money (at a 1.6/fpp rate). If only you could trade/sell fpps it would be easy. CCers could just pool fpps and split the 4k bonus proportionally.

Keep playing the satellites IMO... so far you've made like $400 profit over what Supernova bonus pays. Nothing spectacular, but like Jagsti said you avoid the dreaded bonus clearing downswing that seems to magically happen to those who dare exchange FPPs for cash.

IMO, the FPP's are an extra that you don't need to be worrying about right now. They are not going anywhere and will still be around when you want them down the line. But for now, keep them out of sight and out of mind. So just keep banking the things and use them when you have a desire to do so. Maybe even years down the line. (FPP's don't expire right? Only VPP's expire/reset at the end of the year?)
