| Folding TPTK $10nl I have been back in the game for a few months now playing at $10nl looking to build a bankroll up to $500 before hitting $20nl. Currently at about $120 after a $30 deposit a few days ago. And have recently found that folding TPTK to anything more than min bet to be very proifitable. I play 6 handed and find that, with a hand say like AT, i will limp from last 2 positions / check big blind & be folding at all other positions. And unless i make a monster or cheap flush draw I will fold on a board such as 45T if we get say i better for say 60c and 3 callers. Logic being that it is my hand vs 3 (or more) others and mine will rarely stand up. Of course many of you are telling me to bet and raise. But these players just keep calling down their middle pairs / straight draws / flush draws. Or even have 2 pair and just slowplaying. What are your thoughts. |

| But if i am going to get called 4 ways pre flop holding Ace Ten, whats the point? i am up against 4 players who will not fold if they have the nuts or air or a draw. I have found it much more profitable to wait for the nuts or near nuts then to let them call till their hearts content. The way i liken it is to this. Deal a hand you suggest i raise with. In this conversation ace ten. and then 4 other hands (with real cards on a desk) any hands. then deal some flops and see which way the chips go in the long run. I understand that not all players will call with air and draws all the time. But there is much less variance this way and less variance, personally, allows me to play a with a clearer head. |
