Flushes and St8s

Can some1 help me out,

While playing omaha hi, i do not get it why its not a flush or a str8 if u have 1 card. i no u have to use 2 cards to make ur best hand but say if u got pocket 5s and u catch a flush or str8 wit one of those 5s, then it just says after the hand u show a pair of 5s and not a str8 or a flush.. Welll thats my problem so i would like some answers to solve my problem!!!

i no u have to use 2 cards... but im saying how come its not a flush if ur holding one card that makes a flush.. thats my question

You have to use 2 cards out of the 4 in your hand and you have to use 3 cards out of the 5 on the board to make the best 5 card hand.

So, say you are holding 5c 9d 5s 10s. The board shows 3c 4c Ac 2c 9s

Do you have a flush/straight/straight flush? No, because you can only use 3 of the clubs on the board and the club in your hand, which only makes 4 suited cards. The same thing goes for the straight.
