A fish is anyone who is a worse player than me. lol. but seriously i dont really like the word. its pretty overused. As is donkey. Actually I think bluff is overused too. If you make a bet at a pot, without much of a hand, I really only think its a bluff if the other guy has at least medium strength hand.

A fish does not realize that he is a fish. They often make outrageous bluffs at bad times when they never showed strength prior in the hand. A fish is mostly a joy to have at the table, but at times can mess up a hand between 2 other players at the table. Always be nice to the fish. Encourage them to stay happy the way they are.

I would say a fish is the easy money at any given table. Someone that is able to beat lower levels may be the fish at a higher one, but only applies if they put themselves in that situation...so a better player when on an equal level may be considered a fish if/when playing beyond that, while the other that only plays on tables when having an advantage is not. Table selection is an important poker skill in itself (I'm not knocking stretching your game and putting yourself in situations where you will be the fish at first until you adjust)

The article as not about the actual players but on the perspective of the posting "pro" (for a lack of better word) on fish. I think alot of the reason why we lose is because of our perception of "fish" so I would like to know how you everyone views them, or his opposition in general.

I think the term could be applied as a relative concept. For example, a poor player at one table could dominate at another. Better stated, is someone who can't win worth a lick at 2/4 a fish, even though he is able to crush .25/.50? I think it can work more as a ranking system. You can be a fish and a shark at the same time. Your goal should be to play in the situations where you're a shark (ie. Have an edge) and avoid those where we'd be considered fish.
