| Final Table at Atlantic City Hey guys. I just got back from Atlantic City where I tried to qualify for the WPT Main Event. Didn't have any luck there (Finished 24th in my Qualifier when they were taking only 10). But I did do well in a $65 NL Buyin at the Tropicana where I took first place for $1,300. My problem came when we were down to only the last five and the two small stacks started really pushing for all of us to split the pot right then. Me and another guy were sitting over 70,000 in chips compared to there plus or minus 10,000 with blinds about to get them. We didn't agree and really took a profanity laced lecture from the one I eventually knocked out. Is this common at final tables to split it five ways or was I right not to give into the shortstack temper tantrum? Thanks |

That's the right time to chop. Not when there are 5 people. (good grief!) I have seen 3 people chop, but very rarely more than that. Anybody that gives you lip for it should be referred to the floor manager. |

| how could they be mad? if they were in your situation(which no one hardly ever thinks about) they wouldn't have chopped...the odds were in your favor the were ovbiosly just looking for more money.....i would have just asked the tournament manager to tell them to stop.....you got rid of him anyways |

| re: Final Table at Atlantic City poker I had a friend who did a 5 way chop at the Trop in AC once in a $120. The final 3 would up doing a re-chop as well. My friend still made $2K so he didn't care, and we got a decent meal at PF Chang's out of it. But like everyone else said, chops are up to the players. Do most people chop in AC? Yes. Should you always? Probably not. I heard that the Showboat will no longer let you talk chop at the table (you have to go out in the hall) because they had a problem where someone agreed to a chop and then split with the money. |
