Favorite datamining & table select software (poll & rec)

Datamining is illegal and will get you banned. I have heard people talk about Table Shark for table selection. I've never used it though.

Only on some sites. Namely Stars and (I think?) Full Tilt.

Other sites are perfectly fine with it.

As for the poll: I use spadeit (several versions of their software for several sites). Solid 9/10 programs, 10/10 customer service and a decent price. Can't go wrong.

Btw, in case y'all couldn't guess, I was asking about which datamining & table selection software you guys prefer for something that has both features in one. Seems like the ones in the running are Poker Usher, Sixth Sense, Spadeit, & Table Shark.

(This newbie thought for some reason that maybe I couldn't post a topic like this at this forum if it's about illegal mining. Silly me.)

Datamining is definitely legal at several sites, and as for Full Tilt, they do allow Poker Tracker to grab observed hands ... which is kinda like allowing mining.

But mostly I'm curious about programs that would do table selection (& mining too).

At Full Tilt with PT3, it only works on tables that you are viewing and it only records like 30 hands and then stops. You have to wait a half hour before you can import observed hands again. This is way different than datamining.

Full Tilt just banned OPR rankings, you can no longer obtain records on OPR for Full Tilt tournament results. Full Tilt stated they are blocking OPR due to the fact they consider it datamining. So, no Full Tilt doesn't allow datamining.

Are you sure? I thought it was Stars that had the number of observed tables / 30 minute rule. I know I've observed with PT3 (and thus mined) a LOT of tables at Full Tilt.

I know in tourneys it shuts mine down after thirty hands or so. Like I said, it's not leagal at FTP so why do it?? There are many more important things in poker to focus on other than datamining. Just put the time in and you'll have stats on the players you've played with.

Yeah, I kind of agree about mega-mining, especially if you're collecting zillions of hands for people you'll likely never play against; it just seems like a waste of time & computer resources. But I do like the idea of software that would help select good tables since, after all, playing an easy, lucrative table can be a pretty significant factor in winning. I feel like those two little stats viewable from the lobby (% seeing the flop and avg pot size) don't reeeeaally tell the whole story.
