family home games

i often play tourneys with my family and everytime i leave there feeling like the worst poker player in the world. Their loose their aggressive they play any two cards and heaven forbid they have a draw they wont hesitate to put their chips in.. I never win and i have figured it out....all the years of disobeying mom and being a horrile teenager REVENGE karma has taken over at the tables lol

I just recently taught my family how to play NLHE. My sister is catching on pretty well, and she loves to play. So this is how we spend "family time" now instead of playing monopoly or something.

Sounds like you just get unlucky when you play though, just wait the cards will fall your way one night.

This just goes to show that sometimes, blind aggression wins in tournaments!

I play a family tournament every new years for the past couple of years and I am the back to back champion. Going for the third one this year! Nobody is any competition at my game because they are calling stations and think that you should play any preflop hands simply because you don't know what the flop is gonna be. LOL

we play a home game every week, with friends that i taught to play(normally 8 of us), and to start with I couldnt beat them, as they play totally different to the players you meet online.
Now ive changed my game to betting aggresively PF when i have a hand, and if the flop hits me, continue with the aggression against them as they normally continue calling with cr*p, and hopefully Ive got them all the way. lately my results have improved drastically against them, but then we only play for small stakes, its more about the fun element.ie I flopped a four of a kind sunday night against my wife's fullhouse, and got her all-in, she was so p*ssed when i showed my hand!

Yeah, that's very easy to do especially with Texas Hold 'Em. When I'm playing with my friends, I just wait for them to start fooling around and next thing you know I'm holding pocket aces with an ace coming on the turn.
