For experienced players: For every 10 games, how many do you win? Hello Guys! I know this is a weird question, But I wonder if what is happening to me is a signal that I am getting better or it is just "odds". I have being playing very atcively since August 2008. I play only SnGs. I have being keeping a record of my games and I win (1st place) about 4 for every 10 games I play. About 4 other games, I finished within the last 3 players. The other 2 remaining, I loose in the last place, or almost in the last. So, it would be something like this: From 10 games I: - 4 Win (1st place) - 4 End in 2nd or 3rd place - 2 Lose very badly (last place or almost) This has being keeping like these from almost 2 months ago. What do you think? Is this a signal of something? cheers! Chewie.

80% in the money seems way too high, or maybe I'm just rubbish at sngs .how many games are you talking about? I would think this is a small sample and you're running hot but I doubt it's something that you could keep up for long. There are a bunch of SnG guys on here who'll have a better idea but I think this is probably just a hot streak

A 40% winrate at SNG's is insanely high - I think that a 40 - 45% ITM winrate is considered good, 80% borders on absurd. Your ROI must be skyhigh. This is likely an extremely hot run over a small sample. Check out your stats on one of the tracking sites and compare to other players.

re: For experienced players: For every 10 games, how many do you win? poker LOL, those were the stats I had at playmoney. Are these 9 player sngos? Must be small sample or you should have won enough money to move up a few levels with 150% ROI...unless these are 6 player sngos, then its very good and possibly sustainable (at the lowest level) Last edited by D'wilius : 27th June 2009 at 6:57 PM.

My SNG cash win percentage is around 45%, there not alway's 1st or 2nd. I normally place 4th(average) in the 45 ppl SNG's on pokerstars. 80% is great specially when you play in 1st or 2nd on each one. How many people register in the SNG's that you play?

I play mostly 6 player SnG's, and I win maybe 2 and finish ITM in another 2. Other times I make some bad plays or I get bad-beated out, like yesterday. Sixes beat my Queens, and then the guy hits a straight on the river to knock me out.

Top SNG players usually average around 35% ITM. In large MTT's top players usually average around 15% ITM. Anything much higher, I would have a difficult time believing. If you have played less than 1,000 SnG's or MTT than a super high ITM is variance working in your favor.

Yep, very, very lucky if those are your overall stats for more than a few rounds of record keeping. I usually win 2/3 games of out ten, and finish ITM about 40% of the time. 80% ITM is ridiculously good . . . that's not normal . . . not even close.

-a SNG'er with an 80% success rate at 9 player SNGs -or a player with a ITM of 45% on big MTTs....... At any rate. Your success is great, but how many SNGs is that? |

| If Jerry Yang keeps it up, he'll win five in ten WSOP main events. sustainable imo. Quote:

re: For experienced players: For every 10 games, how many do you win? poker guys, Guys! Wait!....I said in my original post I started on August 2008, so I already declared I am a Newbie and I am here to learn from people better than me. These stats has been from about 2 months ago until today. Yes, I have thought this is a lucky wave. I am not pretending to declare myself "the best SnG player". I didn't ask this question to sound egocentric. I am asking because I am still very new to this game. That's it. Now I know the normal rate would be be ITM about 35/40% of the time. That's it. Thank you guys for your comments. Cheers! Chewie.

That's a nice run you are having. It's kinda hard to believe, but, hey, it could happen. Enjoy it while it lasts. I tend to run about 35-50% ITM in 9 person sngs. It's harder to track now that OPR doesn not include SNGs anymore. I have done better for brief periods, and worse at times. Times like now, actually. It's best not to get too cocky. ![]()

For SNGS,which I havent played on a regular basis in a while, seemed to finsh ITM on average of around 60% at the 5.00 level. For my MTT I generally make ITMaorund 12 to 15% of the time. Which I think is about average. Now of course there are the all mighty swings of nolimit play that are not accounted for both good and bad. But just as an average them are my numbers.
