| Every Hand Revealed Just wondering if anyone has read "Every Hand Revealed" by Gus Hanson. He described all his major hands he played during the tournament (2007 Austrailian Event) which he ends up winning. I found it very helpful. Wondering if any other pro has written a book like this but on various cash games. If so, can someone give me the title, I would like to buy a book like this. I know Phil Gordon's "Little Blue Book" is probably something like this. Any others out there like that? |

| I enjoyed the book but not really from a learning perspective - that is, while I found the book fun to read, it wasn't really that helpful in terms of strategy, at least to me. I'm sure most poker books are going to have examples of real hands played, but maybe not an entire session. The "Winning Poker Tournaments One Hand At A Time" series is the best example that I can think of, but that's not really helpful for cash games. I haven't read all that many cash game books. |

| I bought the book at the airport in the USA before a flight back to Europe and absorbed the entire thing in route. It was not really helpful for my play since I am a NIT, but gives great insight into the thinking of a hyper aggressive style player. A similar book (although the hands are not from 1 single tournament) is "Harrington on Hold 'em. Expert Strategy for No-Limit Tournaments. Volume III. The Workbook". Though Mr. Harrington's style is much more conservative than Mr. Hansen's. |

So if what the OP is looking is another book that discusses particular hands rather than overall strategy, I'll stick with my recommendation. |

^This. It is a good book to read and get a feel for what Hansen is doing, and see that there is a method to his madness. |

| I was disappointed with it to be honest (I expected much more from it.. especially after reading first page or two.... but then reading through the thought processes of Gus I was real disappointed & was expecting sooooo much more). I'd rank this book fairly far down the list as far as NLHE Tournament books go. |

What struck me a the time is how tight GH plays compared to micro tournament players. GH .. one of the most agrro loose players in the world plays fewer hands than many micro stakes players! |

| At the time I read it I was really impressed with Hanson's book. Now, over a year later, and having read poker orfice's opinions on it, I would probably see the analysis with a more jaundiced eye now. However, it is very readable and I do think that I learned something from it. On the off chance that any of you are chessplayers, I would say that it reminded me, in its style to Mikhail Tal's book on his match with Botvinnik. |

| Gus Hanson´s Buch is very entertaining and instructional written, i like this book very much. But it´s for live poker and not very useful for online games. I like his funny style, and his honest explanations. I would definately recommend Gus´ book. |

Currently reading Harrington on Holdem Cash games and Ed Miller's NL small stakes. Both seem to have some interesting examples. I should check out more videos to, I do think I learn well that way. Still got my drag the bar 2 weeks free I should use. I am mostly looking for hold em cash games rather then tournament play |

| re: Every Hand Revealed poker The book is quite interesting, although I have only read the first chapter and a bit of the second as well. I am not really sure if Gus is holding back a bit on this one as his explanations so far don't seem that great. Like when he talks about playing loose vs. tight in the first few rounds, he seems to really miss the point that your opponents really loosen against you in all-in situations later on. Quote:

As far as Hansen goes, I wonder if he'll do a new book about cash games since he seems to be on a huge upswing lately. I know they say he was a high stakes fish the past few years, but he's up over $5 mil in the last five months. |

| re: Every Hand Revealed poker I really enjoyed reading Hanson's book. It describes in detail what strategies he uses to win the tournament, and when most of us think of Hansen, we just think he is hyper-aggressive all of the time. Although that is how he played most of his hands, his image enabled him to get paid off in a lot of spots. It was a great read, but honestly there are only a handful of players like Hansen who can afford to play that style of poker, and he is one of the few success stories. |
