This ever happen to you? I'm sitting in the casino. Waiting for the monsters. Fold, fold, fold. Finally I get wired ones. The table donk, who has a very large stack pushes. The table folds around to me cept for one 4 dollar call. I call. I push my chips out and leave my cards right next to the rail. I have no chips for a card protector as I've pushed. (you see this coming?) The the dealer (THE IDIOT FRICKEN DEALER) starts dragging folded cards in and in the process absent mindedly MUCKED MY ACES. Just stuck em in the muck. FLOOR MAN..... "Sorry sir, your cards have been mucked and the pot goes to the donkey." Then to rub it in, the donk turned over a T9o. ![]()

That's why I always keep my cards close to me out of the dealer's reach unless I fold. Casino has very strict rules and you have to be cautious when you play there. I always say raise before I put any chips out to avoid any accusations of string betting.

Did you announce clearly that you were pushing? I always make sure that the dealer knows what I am about to do and if he goes a reaching for my cards I scream my ass off. Also might be wise to bring a protector of some sort for those all in cases when you don't have a chip left to put on there. Just a suggestion. I also play limit when I am at the casino most of the time, so I am probably not the one for giving advice.

Holy shit. I would have gone insane. Literally. I play in the casinos more than I do online, and I've never witnessed such a blatant, costly mistake as you describe. Would have absolutely lost it. You must have been sitting right next to the dealer. All the dealers at my casino know me well, and ask verbally before takin my cards. How much was in front of you when you pushed? Man oh man, people would have got hurt that night.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Not quite the same but I was in AC last year and was playing Limit Omaha H/L. I hit a straight on the river, but it also brought a 3rd club. Guy in front of me checked, and I checked because I thought he may have hit his flush. He says he has the flush, I took about 5 seconds and then mucked. Dealer then announces that he didn't have a flush (guy had trip Ks and one club). He raked the pot, dealer apologized for not calling out his hand sooner. I was upset by it and actually left the table soon after, but I ultimately had no one to blame but myself. I should have either verified that he in fact had the flush (especially since he was required to show first) or I should have let my cards speak and shown them anyway. It cost me about a $40+ pot but at least it was a good lesson.

I know everyone is thinking that a card protector is the only way to stop this, but the dealers themselves take no pride in dealing. They're just there to make money for themselves & the casino. Not saying that she did it on purpose, in fact she probably felt real bad, but never the less, PAY FREAKING ATTENTION. Pay attention to what's going on and not trying to be the table friend. They're there to do a job, not to be the social bugs that they are. The casinos STRICT policies about protecting your cards are to protect them from stupid dealers. It allows them to shift the blame to you. There, I feel better and yes this has happened to me.

Not so long ago (until the end of the 19th century) the dealer would have been shot right inside the saloon if this had happened. I bet they concentrated harder on what they were doing than todays dealers. I guess he/she has nightmares about you ripping his/her eyes out.
