ESPN Classic TV Today

Anyone whos interested the 2005 WSOP Main Event is on all day today, i watch them over & over and everytime i do i LEARN something new, this is on the East Coast of US, Cable channel 48 for me>>>>>>> buck

Buck, I watched some late last night. Was the Omaha PL tournament I think when Josh Arieh was running to the bathroom lol

If I have time I like to watch it again. I really wish they would replay the 2004 WSOP instead though.

Yesterday and today is the 2005 WS marathon. It's great because there's usually nothing good on tv on the weekends. ~ESPN Classic~

The last times I've watched the 2005 WSOP, I really knew very little about poker, so I've been able to watch it through a new perspective this time around.

That being said, I've discovered that Aaron Kanter is just terribly, terribly bad and it's an embarrassment that he made the final table. Man, what a donkey!

This made me think about the Moneymaker win, have you watched that final table coverage ever?

ANYBODY, and I mean anybody could have won with the cards he was dealt. He hit absolutely monster hands to take out people one after another. And in every case the other person had a real good hand. Reminds me what Harrington said about "the hidden luck" in poker.

I'm glad espn classic plays these poker programs, I've seen them all already and still watch them as much as I can. It was so nice outside today though, didn't get to catch it this time.

Was that the dude who was catching rivers left right and center?
I downloaded all the 2005 Main event episodes, and that guy just killed me. He played the damn thing like a freeroll - I remember seeing him make such ridiculous calls - I don't understand how he made it that far into the tourney.

dannenmann was bad too. but a real nice buckaroo.

With regards to the Moneymaker win in 2003.

He was dealt great hands so had the ammo to do a lot of damage.

However, when heads up against Sammy Farha he went all-in with Ace High and Farha had 99. Farha kept saying "I have a better hand than you" but did not make the call.

Moneymaker showed a lot of balls with that and even though Farha thought he had him there was the element of "he´s been dealt great cards before" so perhaps, just perhaps he can beat my 9´s

Was the turning point and the Full House (again) killed Farha off.

Very true. I watched a lot of it Saturday and then I played some poker at the Foxwoods casino. Nothing like being there.

Yep, that's Kanter. I think his most ridiculous play was the one that crippled Greg Raymer in somewhere around the top 30 or so. If it weren't for him catching a ridiculously fishily-chased draw on the river, he would have been out and Raymer would have almost definitely made the final table. I mean, he freaking called Raymer's all-in with a flush draw going to the river when Raymer is pretty genuinely representing a big hand the entire time (he had KK with all undercards on the board). If Kanter had pushed all-in, well you could call it a semi-bluff, but the fact that he made the call he made with Q high and a flush draw going to the river just showed a complete disregard for pot odds or anything.
