| Dream Final Table to Watch for WSOP Main Event I posed this question to dbitelm, but thought the rest of the forum would love to answer. If you could pick a dream final table to watch, for the final 9 of the Main Event at the WSOP this year, who would the final 9 of your fantasy final table be and what would be your the reasons for wanting to see them play? It could be because they're your favorite player, entertainment value to watch on TV, a professional that deserves it finally, a professional that doesn't deserve it, former Main Event champions, a non-professional, a CardsChat member, a certain celebrity, ect. Oh and of course, you can have yourself at the final table as well if u desire. I'll post my answer later, I'm still thinking. Last edited by hott_estelle : 23rd February 2007 at 6:54 PM. |

| This is a very good question, very fun. IMO you need an underdog pro overcoming odds to win the Main Event. I suppose it's because that's what might have to actually happen for a pro to ever win again... Here's my table: '07 Main Event Final Table - Ivey is short stack, Gold somehow once again has a HUGE chip lead. The other amateur players name's I would have sitting at the table are insignificant in the matter. It comes down to Phil Ivey and the arrogant Jamie Gold. Ivey is still low stacked, but he is his usual calm, cool, collected self, making great move after another to take down the championship he deserves. Crippling Gold's chance to make two in a row and be among the world's greatest players ever to have lived. Probably should have put Chan, Brunson, or Ungar in there a long with Ivey and Gold, but that's a much longer story. |

| Seat 1: Me, myself, and I (Who wouldn't want to play with me) Seat 2: Daniel Negreanu (Easily, in my opionion, the most entertaining player to watch, especially on HSP) Seat 3: Joe Hachem (Out of last 4 WSOP Main Event winners, I like him the best; I don't think that that'll be his last bracelet either) Seat 4: Phil Helmuth (He is a great NLHE player, antics and all, he is still one of the best, and entertaining as well) Seat 5: Phil Ivey (No particular reason, except that he is the general consensus pick by most pros as the best player in the world) Seat 6: Johnny Chan (Just because, well he's Johnny Chan, nothing else needs to be said) Seat 7: Greg Raymer (Don't know how he does it, but always seems to make a good showing in Main Event) Seat 8: Annie Duke (I think she's the best female player out there, she deserves a final table spot; just finished 10th a few years back) Seat 9: Mike Matusow (Entertaining, I know he insults have the table he plays at, but would love to play with him anyways; at times he's hilarious) |

But I don't it'll be a "matter of time" before Ivey wins the big one. I don't think you could say that about anyone, even if they could see the pocket cards preflop. There's a lot of factors involved, I'm sure he'll get deep and close or even possibly win a few times more, but I doubt a guarantee now with the fields as huge as they are. Trust me, its like mass pandemonium, with the amount of people in the Main Event fields. |

| Doyle - because he's still the king. Chan - still one of the best and I love his shirts. Lederer - great analyst of the game, deserves a shot at the big one. Hansen - got to have a wild card in there. Matusow - want to see him call these guys donkeys. Hellmuth - I like seeing him against the best players and his meltdowns are priceless. Fahra - he's always the coolest guy in the room. Forrest - great player, big gambler...a match made in heaven for the ME. Esfandiari - very entertaining, great chemistry with Gus is fun to watch, and I needed a dark horse. |

But on a side note, my thought was that Beal quit poker altogether after Phil Ivey took him for about $15 million or something ridiculous like that in one of their HU matches. Now that is owning someone. |

Ivey never played Beal, but Lederer did. So did Doyle and Todd Brunson. (That's why I included Lederer and Doyle) BTW, it wasn't EXACTLY $15 million but it was a ridiculous number that was won/lost. |
