Downswings and variance, So i was thinking about variance earlier and downswings and what can be done to minimise the effect of them. i mean staying well within your means and using bankroll management is essential to making sure you come out of the other side with some money left in toe. But what other things would help? Also i was thinking do pro's experience downswings less than us mere mortals due to there ability to psychologically outplay people with out ever having to show there cards? Daleyboy

If you have regular sessions of STT / Ring / MTT you will experience a downswing at some point. Some people who are very nitty on BRM who buy in for 0.1% of their roll will not feel the downswing as rough as the people that buy in for 1 or 2% of their roll. If you don't like downswings, be a nit.

other than some BRM there's not much to do....and btw it's not true that pros don't experience downswings..remember ferguson's 0-10.000$ "mission" at a certain point he was up 28K, after that he went down to like 9k in a short time..
