Downswing - AHHHHH!!!!!!!! Help me stop it! For the past 3 nights I have lost 10 BI's at 50NL. It's incredible. Set under set, boat under boat, flopped 2 pair lose to a set and anything lse you can think of. I feel like my game is tight but no matter what I do I seem to lose right now. I typically play a winning game but this is really getting to me. Anyone have any good advice to lend? Quit playing? I am still rolled for 50NL but not for too much longer if this keeps up.

It sounds like you've practiced good BR management and have thought out your game well, so you probably will have the discipline to get out of this. I would encourage you to stop for a couple days. Think about if this is really just a downswing or if you are doing something different from your normal game. Is it possible that you are tilting after some losses? If you really think it's just a downswing after considering everything, you have to keep faith in your strategy. If you keep losing, move back down to 25NL and be on the watch for any leaks in your game. Even if it's just a downswing, looking for leaks can't hurt. Good luck!

Sounds like it's time to simply take a break. If you're not doing anything wrong, you shouldn't be looking to change your play. When the cards are beating you down that bad and that consistently, sometimes it's best to take a little vacation from the tables.

The best thing I found is to just back away the from the tables for a little while. I had a card dead streak for about two weeks and could not catch a thing no matter what. I quit for a couple of days and played with play money a couple of times and just to keep up with the game. Because if you keep playing and it just seems that you are card dead, you start making bigger mistakes from the frustration of it all. Then you start making bad decisions and lose more money. So just stop for a while. Because last night I played after a little break and could not lose a hand. It was my night for the cards to hit and it was just sick. I knocked out or crippled 4 players in a 9 player sng.

re: Downswing - AHHHHH!!!!!!!! poker My advice is to just back away from the tables for a while. If you keep playing and remain card dead you will start making bad decisions out of fustration and just compound the problem. I had a streak for about two weeks were I could not hit a thing, and strarted down the wrong path. lost money and never cashed. I quit for a week played with play money to keep up the game and check my thought processes again. It payed off I have started cashing again and making it ITM in tournaments this week. Last night I played a 9 player SNG and knocked out or crippled 4 players and went on to win theie thing. It si problably just streak that you going through at this time.

Thanks everyone! I did indeed take a couple days off and started up again last night. I went up a couple buyins and boy did it feel nice. hope fully I can run a little more on the upswing and stay away from the downs. i know it's gonna happen but when it does it really sucks.
