Don't blame the site I have seen alot of different threads with the same message............."I can't win, so the site must be cheating me" Take a good hard look at your play and if you are honest with yourself you will see that you are not playing as strong as you might think. Instead of posting your AA that got cracked by 37o in bad beats, bring ALL of your hands to HA, and let these guys help you become a better player. In the same way a missed field goal can not win or loose a football game, 1 hand can not win or loose a poker tournament. If the offense had put 1 extra touch down on the board the missed field goal would not matter, and if you have played solid smart poker, 1 suck out wont end your tournament. (not including the 1st 2 or 3 hands). The object is to build a bankroll that is large enough to ride out the highs and lows that happen to EVERY player in EVERY tournament. (if this next part seems harsh, its because it is meant to be harsh) Guys and Gals, y'all really do need to get over yourself. Cowboy up, take your licks for making that donk play and move on. The Site is NOT cheating you, you are cheating yourself by not refusing to acknowledge your limts and not being willing to set pride aside and take some time to learn the game. We all know the basics of Texas hold'em poker, but none of us are masters of the game (if we were we would be writting books on how we wont the wsop, not threads about loosing freerolls). However, I dont think there is a single player at this site that doesn't have the abilty to learn to be a master and win a bracelet. (well there was one but I think the mods banned him ). As always, this is just my opinon. I could be wrong

Cowboy, you make a great point that, unfortunately, will go unheard by all the Phil Hellmuths that will join this site and eventually get beat with a great hand. But at least we have a thread to point them toward now so that we can tell them in a few words that the donk they speak of was themselves! Oh, and I love the part about "well there was one but I think the mods banned him"! Too funny!

last 1,5 weeks i played some tourneys in FTP and all the times i have put my chips in when i was in front. Like AK vs AJ pre and KK vs QQ and i havent cashed yet. Like yesterday i had straight and inside straight-flushdraw after flop and i reraised all in, got a call by TPTK and he ended up making runner-runner boat.

The other day i got 66. flop came 644 now one would have to say im feeling pretty good at this point. The guy b4 me rasies a lot. I go all in he dos too. Turns over 44. I dont feel good anymore. I do not think the game is rigged at all. Just bad luck it happens. I have seen live games AAAA lose to rolye flush on the river. If that happened on line wow look out. Everyone would say its rigged but how to account it happening live.

I dont see how its rigged most people who say that there are bad beats usually go all in pre flop with there big hands and see themselves get rivered. Thats why you dont see pros going all in preflop, they play every street and dont usually go all in unless they have the nuts or a great bluff. Next time someone complains about bad beats tell them to go watch some poker videos at there nearest video uploading site. I have been watching alot of poker clips lately and wont complain about bad beats anymore.

Absolutely right. On the odd occasion when I have become impatient with one of the moaners, I have pointed out to them that, right here at CC, there are players who win consistently and who are ahead thousands of dollars. If online poker is rigged as they claim, how can it be rigged for some and not for others ? I am still waiting for one of them to give me a credible answer. Nice thread, Cowboy. |

online poker isnt rigged, the people who say it is are probly the ones who think the dealer cheated him in live play. People dont realise that getting beat by KK when you have AA though unlikely isnt impossible. In fact your only a 4-1 favorite i think.

I agree with everything your saying cowboy, but what do you call, being card dead for hours upon hours in a tourney, and seeing this one guy/gal playing bunk and constantly winning! What do you call it when you constantly get in ahead and come out behind? Are these really bad beats and bad players, just getting rewarded for there moronic plays. Lets assume it is just bad luck, so why is it that ppl tend to suffer these inhuman bb's at a critical moment in the tourney? Why is it, that the idiot who could'nt really give up his k/10o and doesn't care weather you've been folding or not for god knows how long ends up with your chips, and bye bye, your chances for victory? I understand your tired, fed up of hearing ppl blame the sites for there misfortune but take into account all that goes on in a tourney, take into account how many misfortunes one person can suffer prior to actually, start questioning such things, instead of just stating that ppl need to account for there own actions since some ppl actually don't play nothing other then startering hands, so I mean it's a 2 way road.

| WHAT?!! You are telling me that it isn't the RNG's fault that I am suck at poker and am a losing player. TOTALLY!! Unaccaptable. Now if you will excuse me I believe that I am elligible for a Boomswitch ugrade at Pokerstars for the next two weeks. That was sarcasm, just in case it wasn't clear. I totally agree with the OP. | re: Don't blame the site poker For me it is not so much that I think online poker is rigged. I just get so darned frustrated when time after time I get all my chips into the pot with an overwhelming favorite hand, like set on the flop, made flush or straight, and inevitably, some donk ahole calls needing a one or two outer, or runner/runner and always seems to catch exactly what they need (and it always happens right before the money). I make the right play and some moron who has to know he is crushed and the odds of catching what he needs are tiny STILL PUTS HIS TOURNAMENT LIFE ON THE LINE, draws out and then crows like a prize rooster about what a brilliant poker god his mama birthed. If you draw out on the donk play at least have the good manners to show a little humility. You just graciously advanced in the tournament, there is no need to be rude as well. |

I used to think the RNG was a little screwy when i first started playing online poker but after playing for a while i realized its not. The fact is you see 3 times as many hands online than real life, The fact is people play more hands differently and more hands period online than in real life. Just point and click. So them Aces we all love so much are going to get cracked by the person who wont lay down a 5-2s even to a 10bb raise. Capitalize on weakness and if you go in with the better hand and lose suck it up play again. Why are these sites going to fix freerolls? Fix play money? If they are fixed than its all fixed and if its all fixed than why are you playing? ONLINE POKER IS NOT FIXED, BAD BEATS ARE BAD BEATS!!!!

I alway love the whole rigged debate...does anyone else think its funny that most people who say that sites are rigged are always explaining how they went all in with their great hand before the flop or with their draw after the flop. Don't you realize that once you've made that decision any hand can basically be played out like a coin flip. I know one might have better percentages to win, but once the cards come out, it is how it is. Just because you see someone go all in while watching the world series doesnt mean " hey that worked great maybe I should do that " Those people have been playing all day with the same bunch of people and they make moves that have been pondered over and thought about repeatedly. They're playing their stacks against others and playing the other players, playing position, and I dont think I've ever seen a table of pros have half of the table go all in on each other preflop and then cry that 34 beat their AA. Anyway whenever I hear someone bitch about a sight being rigged it just makes me giggle.

If it did, you should stop playing. you only remember the times it happens and it "always" happens when you get knocked out. but you dont remember the times your hand holds up, that's not as tragic. |

re: Don't blame the site poker honestly how can someone blame the site...its not like they are the ones dealing the cards...its all about strategy and how you play....are people honestly that immature they have to blame someone else.

Great post Cowboy. If players would only realize that there are more unpainted cards in the deck, then they would know that low cards can come up more often. Yes their odds are better to have their painted pairs hold, but shit happens and some guy will 2 pair you with crap. Try a little experiment. Deal out 10 hands plus a board, do this 10 times. Now see what hands won, if everyone stayed till the river. Not all the best starting hands will win. (Unless you RIGGED the deck)

I actually read some of the facts behind these sites and i saw that there is a such thing as different degrees of randomness....but that is not a excuse for bad play..the randomness is the same for everyone and the common factor is that the better players still win over the long haul.
