Donks at 5/10 heads up

So I was playing and won a shit ton of money on FT. I cashed out 1200 of 2000. I was playing some heads up for about a week and I was up and down. I had a buncha terrible beats kill my roll down to about 550. I was then playing some slow dude on 1/2 headsup where hed constantly fold. I looked him up and he was on a 5/10 table sitting by himself. so i figured id go there where he can fold me 10 dollars at a time. Well about 10 hands in I get KK. He raises preflop to about 36 and I raise him. He reraises me and I go all in. He calls.. he shows A2.. yes.. A2 for 550$ preflop.. not even suited. Ace on river... bam there goes my full tilt bankroll. Does everyone play like this on 5/10 or was this a single guy. lol

that's why they call it a Bankroll.... so you can afford to take this shot profitably.

There are plenty of monkeys at every level. The key is to have enough cushioning to take these ridiculous A2>KK beats.

My only question for you was why your entire bankroll was on the table in a heads up game?

This seems to be a reoccurring theme from posters on his forum.

In any case, thats a pretty horrible bad beat

if hes going all in with A2 hes obviously loaded and doesnt care, gotta watch for those lol.

I am sure he didn't have his full bankroll, he obviously could aford to take the risk.
You should look him up again after you get a bankroll built up again, he sounds easy barring any bad beats.

I cashed out a bunch. So I can afford to put more on when I get my check in the mail. I threw it all on knowing the guy was a fool. I wish I had a few Gs where I could go all in with A2

If you had a few Gs would you really put it in with A2? I would think you'd need a couple 100Gs to play that way.

This thread should serve as a strong reminder that higher limits do not always equal smart opponents. I recommend that people take 15-20 min every once in awhile to watch the high stakes games on PS or FT and note how many stupid plays there are at 100/200 NL.

This was another good learning experience for me. I think overall I am down a ton since starting playing however I have improved a lot since then. This experience taught me that more money doesn't mean someone is actually better. The first night I won 800 I played in a 100$ buy in sit and go just to see what it was like and the play was tight and very good so I expected that from cash games as well. I also have learned I don't like headsup tables lol.
