The Donk Experiment Due to the large number of threads venting about how donks beat them so many times with their huge hands, I have taken it upon myself to propose an experiment, at great risk to my life and bankroll. Despite the horrid dangers involved, I propose that 8 other players from cardschat sit down at one of the 25nl tables with me and all play like donks, going in every hand. I will only play QQ-AA and watch as time after time my quality hands are beat by 4-6 offsuit and the like. And worse yet, I will NOT post any of the bad beats on this forum so people can comfort me. I know it is a great sacrifice on my part, but I feel like I truly owe it to the community to give everyone that wonderful feeling of sucking out on someone. I am prepared to face the prospects of hours of bad beats for the good of our community. Anyone that is willing to sit at the 25 nl tables and eat at my bankroll with 7-4 offsuit pushes is welcome.

I've played in several all-in or fold tournaments, and they're a blast, especially when you know the players. There's a weekly KO "Donkfest" at FT. I've always made my buy-in back so far, usually in bounties. I bet if the buy-in was only a buck or so we could have some CardsChat kinda fun.

re: The Donk Experiment poker I think this is an interesting experiment certainly. If you can get folks in on it would love to see the results! I would like to note that the problem with REAL donks is that they are incredibly inconsistent! Its not just going all in with 7-3o its much more than that. I mean if it were just a matter of all in or not all in it would be easier to deal with I think. I mean sometimes they go all in with crap and other times will slow play AA... then other times go all ace-ragey with A-rag its just not consistent and that can be maddening (NOT that I think players SHOULD always be consistent that would be ridiculous and not all that strategic) but geez... (That is my only rant for today LOL) Although I must say that if I had the bankroll for it at this moment I might consider it, just to see what happened. I have tried this on the occasional freeroll just for fun (and actually done surprisingly and frighteningly well) but all it proved to me was that sometimes lady luck is on your side and sometimes she is larfing at you from someone elses corner! I must say I am glad to be back, was without internet for toooooo long!!!

With average luck you will not win most of the time, but when you do win (probably 20-30% chance to win, depending on the hands) you will win 8 times what you put in. So you have a huge expected value to go all in against 8 random hands with QQ-AA.
