Dominate the Other Games to make a PROFIT!!!

Hey Everyone,

We all play poker, special Hold'em... it's so popular even my grand parents play it...

Lately I have been making a big PROFIT, on other games besides hold'em... games like Pot Limit Omaha, Stud Hi, and RAZZ... not a lot of players know how to play this games well enough... if you practice and master this games... you can also profit... specially from the unexperienced players that want to try their luck at this games...

you can start out in the ring games... and work your way up to the Heads-Up tournaments...

Let me know what you guys think?

and Good Luck at the Tables

Yes, I especially like the PLO tournaments they have on cake. I have done extremely well in the daily $1500 GTD $5r PLO tournament at 12:30 pm EST.

I dont think you should be playing any other types of poker unless you are really gonig to master it. You may have opponents that dont have too much of a clue whats going on but if you dont either, theres no much point.

From the looks of it however it looks like your playing pretty well on these different types of games so yeah, give it a crack and try and become extremely good at it. Otherwise, i would just stick to your normal texas holdem.

Good luck!

I am cleaning up in the PLO surge, and stud is my bread and butter... Any pro or advanced player can play all variations well.
HE is just one game. Most of Ivey's WSOP bracelets are not for HE.
Think about it.

Other games are not that well supported these days.
The overwhelming majority of players only know how to play Hold EM, so thats where most of the money is.
If you can master that game you will be far more minted than mastering the other games.

There have been some days where Im feeling frisky and I head over to the Omaha tables just to mess around. I do have a very good understanding of the play in that game, and generally play very low limits on Ultimatebet. And youre right, I pretty much clean up the place. It seems like its pretty much people who are wanting to just try something different and give me their money. I would seriously recommend it to people to really learn those games, because they are an online goldmine.

Well said. And was true before online even. True poker players pick their games, and tables, depending on what looks juicy at the time. U gotta know all poker to really love it; HE kids are often just TV lovin shovin wannabes IMHO, sometimes makes for a tiresome place to hang around.

Stud, Omaha, razz etc. will always be supported at the major sites. I invite all you HE readers to drop by when u get bored . He he he.

Sure HE games have most players and money. But the side pools are where the fat fish wanting to learn swim... As Xavier makes obvious: "The overwhelming majority of players only know how to play Hold EM, so thats where most of the money is."

It sure is, when they come and bring their money looking to find out what HORSE means. Or try some Omaha thinking it is HE with more cards and AKo is cool. LMFAO!

I totally agree. There is money to be made out there on the less common games. I loath PLO. LOVE HORSE! there are a couple games on FTP that are very fun. Couple of newbs but if you can be patient enough, then you have pretty good odds of placing in the money. Hope I see some of you guys in the HORSE game.

There is also the alternative of limit Hold 'Em games. You don't have to risk your whole stack against the All In Charlies. For me, I need to learn how to be profitable at NLHE, before I venture out.

I hate that you are even trying to educate people to this fact (not in a mean way, just selfish way.). Those that don't see the fact that they are being closed minded and limiting them selves are short sighted.

Different games allow you to grow as a player, regardless of the ones you choose. I'm not talking the times when peeps play penny PLO to blow off steam. But really learning a game(s) allows you to take what you learn back to your primary game. Whether it be a better handle of applied odds, to dealing with short stackers(yes they are everywhere), to increasing aggression, to a myriad of other things.

It's no accident that the best players play multiple games, and are trying to learn more.

Just food for thought.

I like playing 7 card hi/lo. I have a set of guide lines that I follow, and when I do I usually turn a profit.... nothing better than a "SWOOP".
Take care

I'd like to know how to play well to these games too, and sometimes I play some freerolls, but I'm far too weak at these games to play for money...

And as I don't have a lot of time, I prefer playing NL. But I hope one time I'll be able to improve at these games, I'm sure you're right

I will learn to play the other games at some point.
At the moment I am just putting my efort into getting better at Hold Em however, and becoming a strong player at that game.

I think I am in the same boat. I need to spend less time on other games and more time on Holdem because as my other games are staying about constant it seems that I am loosing the ability to represent a strong hand in Holdem. Trapping someone has become just about impossible for me now with all the runner runner combinations and the consitent 90% favorite losses on the river. For example in last nights freeroll I checked the nut flush on the flop, someone bet 1/2 pot on the flop I smooth called, turn pairs the 9 on the board, I check agian, dude overbets to put me all in, I call he shows AK (Ks and 9s), and the river is another K to boat him up. Seems 3 out of 4 tourneys that I enter now end this same way. Although its more like 5 out of 5 on Full Tilt and 1 of 4 everywhere else.

Just an interesting side note.

I graphed my results on sharkscope by tournament type, and on cake my NLHE ROI is just over 30%, my PLO ROI is 70%.

I was actually writing a article as my 500th post article, but forgot about it as it is on my older laptop.

I do definately agree that playing many games gives you a distinct advantage in many areas which I will talk about in my article if I can get that posted here in the near future.

jordan, you can definately reach higher ROI in some games, I find that games like HORSE and PLO(8) are quite easy to win in, but unfortunately the amount of tournaments in those games are limited.
