Does the site you play influence your results???

Hi all.

I`ll dissapoint some of you straight away - this is not a "This site is rigged" thread

I have played 4 sites in the 2 years I have been playing poker and I can`t understand why my results are so dramatically different!!!

I play Titan, Ladbrokes, Pokerstars and Party poker - so not small sites and I can`t believe the level of player is that different from one site to the next.

I do know why my results are not as good on Pokerstars. It is because I try to build up my FPP and I find ring games so different to MTT`s - I don`t think I have the right mix of patience and fearlessness (If that is a word which I doubt!!!)

I just can`t get away with Titan whatever I play. Laddies I did well when it was my only site but it has now gone bad. I get most of my success playing MTT on Party.

Do any of you guys have similar experiences or any thoughts as to why it should be???

Thanks.

PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best poker sites on the internet. They accept US players and using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $75 bonus.

PartyParty Poker is probably the best known online poker room. Use the Party Poker bonus code CC150 for a 30% upto $150 deposit bonus.

Maybe the people are different thats the reason....levels of play also

I have played mainly on FullTilt and PokerStars...i have won more money(profit) on Tilt then Stars but see the same play at both.

I play pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker

I like pokerstars better because im mainly a sng player - obviously PokerStars wins in that catagory.

Full Tilt Poker has more smaller tourneys imo, but same lvl of players as pokerstars.

Overall I prefer pokerstars but really it doesnt matter.... perhaps you would notice a change from the different websites(especially the smaller ones) if you are a ring player but im not.

I only play in tournies, but I have noticed that players at Bodog seem to play a lot more tightly than many of the other sites I play at...

IMO I find a huge difference in the level of play between Stars and Party. I play 25nl and 50nl 6 max cash, and party poker has some mega horrendous, fishy players. Stars has a lot more knowledgeable players, but fortunately there are so many players on Stars you can still find the fish.

I agree with Jagsti, Pokerstars has much better players on it. In fact you could have not put which site you did poorly at and I woulda filled in for you that Stars was your nemisis. Again, what Jagsti said, there are plenty of fish there, but you have to find them/table select properly.

I don't do near as good at ft or PokerStars as I do on bodog . lots of good players and fish at all the sites , we just need better table selection as volleycat says .

Strange. Titan and sister site Victor Chandler are my favourite sites and have been very successful for me. A matter of taste, I guess.

To expand on my comment on Titan. I like the graphics but I can`t win - not a slur on this site , moreso my play on this site, and I don`t know why.

Having thought about things, the prblem I have is that I should stick to what I am good at for now, that being MTT. The problem you have with playing MTT`s are the time taken - to play a good MTT you need to put aside at least 4 hours +

So I end up playing SNG`s. I`m not desperate at SNG`s - my big losses came some time back when I moved up to silly stakes for my level of skill - I would play $50 - $100 buy in SNG`s.

IMO, pokerstars is the place for tourneys and SnG's for ring games I prefer party poker.

Yes, I can certainly relate to that difficulty. MTTs are also my main earner, but it is difficult to do job, family, and life generally while fitting in a reasonable weekly programme of tourneys.

If you keep records, this should be testable by comparing results from different sites but same games.

Just make sure you have a lot of hands/tourneys before drawing any conclusions.
