does it hurt to opt the iron man chip in?
for those who play fulltilt, do u keep ur iron man chip in? is it a disadvantage to do so? considering it lets people know you play alot and are most likely a decent player, so you're not able to get as much value out of your hands. or could it go the other way? having your iron man chip opted in presents fear into your opponents, making them easier to bluff and push around.
let me know your thoughts |

This usually differs from person to person. My personal view in regard to the issue is that if you would like people to respect your play more, keep the chip there because it certainly does signify that you play way too much (j/k) and probably have at least some sense of what you're doing. I personally like to put mine on when I'm running badly, as it usually keeps a slightly higher percentage of people from calling me down light, always getting involved with me, etc. But, like I said earlier, it's your call

Gotta be honest, seeing an IronMan chip doesn't really change the way I play against someone. I'll observe their tendencies then play against them accordingly, like I would any other player.
I'm conscious that I'm not everyone though, and it's entirely possible other people might give you more (or less) respect if you're showing one. Like anything else, I think you just need to observe your opponents and adjust your game to fit. If you're not getting enough action on your good hands, bluff more. Either you'll take down more pots uncontested, or your opponents will catch on and you'll start getting the action you want for your regular game. |

Iron man chip points of view
I play a lot of Sng's on FT. Honestly, it is a status symbol of sorts and it does usually mean you are a decent playe for a chip. If I get check raised by a guy with a chip, I do think a little longer before calling.
I don't play enough to qualify but I kind of like to knock those guys out with the chip. It does act as a target for some players. If you raise it up from the cutoff, I think your are stealing and I call w/ a wide range of hands. There is a lot to say about anonymity. When I go to the casino, I don't wear my FT hat or shirt usually. I don't want to send a signal that I am a regular player. After an hour or so they'll know, but maybe by that point I will have snuck up on a player or two. |
