Does anyone know the legitimacy of this?
Ive been playing at bugsy club for a long time and there has always been lots and lots of complaining. I always thought the complaints were bs and today i saw they had this test done to prove themselfs.....im just curious if this a legitamate test and to many poker sites use it? I hope it is.
Below is the post they put up in there forum jim Random Number Generator Officially Certified Operator: Planet Ace Gibraltar Ltd URL: www.bugsysclub.com This is to certify that iTech Labs have evaluated the Random Number Generator (RNG) used for the shuffling of cards in card based games by Planet Ace Gibraltar and found that the RNG fully complies with the relevant iTech Labs standards*. The Planet Ace Gibraltar RNG for card based games uses a widely recognized algorithm to generate the random numbers. The numbers generated by this RNG have passed Marsaglia's "diehard" tests for statistical randomness. iTech Labs have also evaluated the scaling of the RNG generated numbers and the shuffling of the cards. Chi-squared tests were applied to several large sets of shuffled decks for suits 1-4, ranks 1-13 and cards 1-52. iTech Labs have found that the card sequences are unpredictable and non-repeatable. The certified code for the RNG has been fingerprinted. The Original iTech Labs Certificate can be viewed Here. |

Bugsy's RNG is "certified" but yet all the players who have played there have always been "bugsied". The site seems to give alot of flushes out vs. other sites. I've played there since 2004, so I've seen my fair share of hands. It's also seems that if you flop trips or top 2, you will get sucked out on by someone playing for a flush or inside straight. It's so predictable that you can easily make the fold when the 3rd club hits. But part of that equation is that the talent on Bugsy's just isn't very good. So regardless of what you do, you'll most likely be seeing all the cards.
I don't know that you are better off on Bodog. They seem Ace friendly and have an awful lot of suited flops (all 3 cards) come out. All sites seem to have their little quirks. And while I don't buy into the rigged theories, I do wonder how well these independent companies are testing out these RNGs in order to certify them. |

My argument here is that this is a story that crops up about all sites from time to time, we all have to be certified and we are all subject to monthly checks, whether it be by PwC, Itech or others - I do feel that there are worse beats in the situations mentioned (trips or top two being blasted by flush draws, and to a lesser extent gutshots or open-enders - but my reasoning for this is that people are FAR more likely to "hang on" in online poker to go for a draw, given the "virtual effect" ie. playing live you have to physically put your money in the pot, its much easier pressing that call button on a poker client than it is throwing your hard earned in the middle of the table.... as for bugsys specifically, I cant comment as I havent played there - but as we have all got tooo much to lose by being "crooked" I cant see why they would be... just my tuppence folks (and its nice to see that we are listed on JD's list!!) cheers martin |
