Does anyone here not care about percentages

Ill be watching poker on tv or during the tourney and it will always show someones percentage of winning or losing a hand. Im not sure ive ever played a hand because of percentages or if i even care.

I first play my opponents hand, then my hand, i then go by feel, and then i go by percentages.

How many times have you been sucked out when there was less than 10 percent chance of losing. Probaly alot more then 10 percent.

It doesnt really matter how many times someone sucks out with a certain percent chance. I can remember plenty of times getting beat by a 2 outter on the river, mainly because you remember the bad beats before ALL the ones where the percentage and numbers were in your favor. Its called selective memory.
I honestly think if you know the percetages or outs It helps a lot. You can go with your gut in the short run, during the hand, but in the long run math plays out and eventually youl be profitable calling with a higher percentage hand against a draw.

Also the 10% chance of not losing is a 90% chance obviously of winning, so if you have a Tracking system like Poker Tracker and see how many times you won a 90% chance hand, I can gaurantee its more than 10% if you are looking at hands over along period of time.

Your just looking at the glass and seeing it half empty, instead of half full

I would say that its easier to get a feel for the numbers, then go with your gut.

And how do you play your opponent's hand and your hand without knowing the percentage of them winning? Most likely you just know generally how good each hand is, the likelihood of you being ahead in a situation (expressed as, you guessed it, a percentage), and your read on what you think your opponent is doing, knowing that your opponent is doing the same thing determining percentages. So sure it's not like that, you're still using percentages.

Reads are the most important part of my game, plus it's funny watching somebody call me a super user when I tell them their hand

Don't forget, what you are seeing on TV is all cards/hands being "known".
So the percentages are going to be different when you are playing and not knowing what cards are dead. ie. you hold pkt Q's and 2 others have folded Q2o so your Q's are dead in the water.
You should always want to know what your approx. starting hand percentage is and go from there.

What a ridiculous statement. How can you play your opponent's or your hand if you don't know the percentages? The very fact that you don't auto fold AA preflop indicates that you are using the fact that AA is 80%+ vs a random hand as a guideline. Do you fold 2 overcards and a flush draw if you know somebody has TP? If you aren't using %s you might as well fold since all you have is probably A high...nevermind the fact that you are a favourite vs any TP hands unless the 2nd card is shared.

You can't even play a hand of poker without %s. You wouldn't have a clue whether or not to fold/call/raise or anything at all if you had absolutely no clue the odds of you winning. The best you could do is to play position and basically play every hand solely on your reads of other players. And in this case there would never be any point of looking at your cards. And i think you'll agree that most ppl would play worse if they were completely blind to their hole cards. The second that you look at your hole cards, you are using %s the entire time even if you don't realise it.

OP: Players like you who think that they play great without learning the math, that their gut and instinct is all they need, that don't need to study or improve their game or just add more knowledge to their poker arsenal, slowly add to the bankroll of those of us who do.

Please continue to disregard the percentages.
