Do you prefer 6-max or full (9/10) table?

Which do you prefer and why?

I've been thinking of trying 6-max, but I've only ever played regular (9/10 player) tables. It seems like 6-max would have less hands that could beat you(?).

I play strictly 6max right now, but Ive played Full Ring in the past. I like 6max a lot better, you can play a wider range of hands, since there are less people at the table and the action moves quicker. If I ever sit at a FR now, it bores me to death sitting around and waiting for a hand.

I have to say I've noticed the same. 6 max definately moves more quickly, and also I've noticed I tend to win more hands there than playing at a full 9 or 10 seat table ( not to offend anyone but I see many more 'donks' at a full table than at a 6 max one, and it seems the junk they call or decide to go all in with usually hits and it burns me up sometimes... especially when I've got high pocket pair or top cards and lose out lol, oh well that's their luck at the moment I suppose.)

Just my 2 cents on that subject.

I play 75% of the time at 6-man tables..Not sure if you are referring to tourneys or cash tables tho. My friend has a running disagreement with me over this.. He stating the "cons" and I the "pros".... I simply do better at a smaller table,perhaps the obvious,less competition, is the main factor,he dislikes them because of the blinds,as they come around to you quicker you are losing more often to the blinds than at a 10-man. Six man tables are better I believe for the more aggressive player..But I really have no idea which is best..I play the way I make more money and that is 6-man cash tables!

Well maybe not very easy, but I find I'm a lot more profitable with it than I was with 6max.

I prefer 6max, but I ran like crap at it so I went over to FR, where the play is a lot slower but thats goot coz I can now 16+ table.

I think I will end up at 6max in the future, but im enjoying FR profitability ATM.

This is why I like FR. I can multitable so it isn't boring to me while those who don't will get bored playing good poker and will play a wider range of hands, play them worse, and make far more mistakes than I will. If you only get A-rag once every half hour, you're more inclined to play it and these same people are the ones who will pay you off if they hit only their A.

thats one of those 6 of one half dozen of the other knd of things.guess it depends on whether im playing rings,sng,or a tourney,and what site i happen to be at.

Well I like to play a lot of tables at once so I play full ring for now. I playeda couple sessions of 6-max over the last couple of days and I pretty much broke even. I would win a big pot then end up giving it back, I think it would just take some getting used to but I'd rather just build my bankroll for now.

6-max you have a better chance of winning, but 9/10 you have a chance of winning bigger pots. In my opinion

I'm happy enough playing both - though in STTs I prefer a full table, as you get slightly more breathing (and playing) room on the bubble than you do on a 6-max table.

I don't play 6 max unless I start getting really bored at the FR and have the urge to start opening up my starting hands which you all know is a BR killer in FR.

You simply get more action the smaller the tables is, and it takes a lot more skills to read your opponents.

The down side is that you suffer more bad beats.

70% of my cashgame action is on 6 handed, and it will definately continue that way.

I only wish there were more action in 6 handed tournaments that would have spiced things up

6 max can be very loose at times simply by the pure nature of the fact you are seeing more hands, blinds etc so players tend to get involved more often.

9/10 max is the more realistic version of the game (sometimes lol ) where by the simple fact of having more players you often need a better starting hand to help you win.

Players tend to be tighter there, although you get a slower game.

I often have one of each open to counter each other

FR for me. i like the waiting thing. ive not tried 6 max much but i hear it can be very profitable as people often go there to gambol.

i play both in tournaments, but at ring games i prefer 10 people as the pots are bigger but as posted already 6 peeps you can have a better chance of winning but usually in 6 peeps, first one to bet and every one folds.

i prefer 9/10 6 max was exciting but killed my 1st bankroll as i opened my starting hands a tad to wide

There was no donut option in the voting.

Since I'm attempting to actually make donuts from scratch today, I think that option is necessary.

For ring games, I want 9 or 10 people at a table.

When I first started playing I was being taught by another person on how to play online poker. He saw me sitting at 6 max tables and told me to start playing the 9 man since blinds don't hit you as much as a beginner player. So I'm going to say 6 max is something you play when you have the experience and now how to play, because it is a different game.

I prefer the full table and eliminating players down thru the 6 player stage and beyond. I find that thru the first hands of a full table I can learn to 'feel the forces' at that particular table, without feeling compelled to act. On those occasions where I find myself tuned in to those forces, well,,,,,you've been there

Donuts are a form of cake. Since the option is just cake, not chocolate cake or devils food cake, all forms of cake are included. Including stale dried up cake (gawd forbid!)

Actually the type of donuts I made, yeast based, probably aren't in the same genre as cake, they would more likely be in the bread section.

As for stale cake, who ever has it around long enough to get stale?

6 max is way more fun, but FR is a lot easier on my bankroll. I can play 6+ tables of full ring and earn a nice steady profit. 6 max requires for me to get good reads on all the players, and there's still a lot of variance in the play.

Wow, an even split pretty much... I like FRs for the more relaxed pace and fewer blinds, I go 6 man when I'm feeling more aggressive...

i prefer FR. i go to play and relax. played a 6-max tourney once and cashed. just enjoy the slower pace of a full table...

I like to play 9/10 person tables a lot, but when it comes down to it, I'll play both. What I like about the full tables is that you can pick up more chips by just playing tight starting off because of the donks just paying you off constantly. Then once they start to get knocked out, you have a nice stack to work with and start to pick up the pace from there. So when it comes down to 6 people, you already have a nice chip lead and have a better chance at placing since it's top 3 and not only 2 spots.

Seems like when ever I play short handed sng's, they are always more of a grind out then the full tables.

I can play tournaments in both formats. In cash games I prefer FR as I haven't put enough hands in 6-max yet.

Tournaments either one, doesn't matter.

Cash games with proper BRM 6-max.
Cash game rampaging 9-max if I don't have enough BB for more than 20 orbits.
Cash game rampaging 6-max if I have full BR at the table at a really high limit.
