Do You Look Players Stats and ROI'S While Playing?

I have recently started looking up the stats of players on my table on pokerrankings whilst I play.
It gives you an idea who the donks and decent players are from the start as opposed to having to watch them play for a while.

I don't really care too much. If someone is at lots of tables with me then I assume they at least have some clue. Otherwise I assume they're bad.

pokerranking stats are not that acurate, ive learned this by looking myself up countless times, and not once have the stats been even close to the truth

ive started to look at stats at pokertableratings.com if im not too lazy to give me a example of how many hands they've played, how much they've won/lost etc etc. quite usefull to see whos the good/bad player.

i used to but i dont like to because it change the way i play, and i just dont wanna do that. and also, its against the rules.

I found that it really doesn't change anything other then the way I play and that is a mistake to try to do that in the middle of a game

is this true? why is that against the rules?

Not sure which site you're referring to? All of the ones I've checked out are very accurate, (some of them don't track private tournaments, and some are missed when sites have shut down for updates).

As far as the one OP is talking about, it's very accurate as far as I know. You can actually check out every single hand that was played by your opponent if you click on sessions... a list of all hands played on each specific date appears and you can bring up any particular hand and then it is replayed for you on an auto-hand replayers. How much more accurate can you get than that?
I don't use it while playing but do check it out when not logged into the site (I've heard it's illegal to use while playing on the tables).

There's a guy in another forum I used to go onto a fair bit, who's always boasting how often he withdrawls $'s from Fulltilt (regulary.. every 2wks.. an 'extra paycheque for having fun').. probably cuz his tourney stats. suck so bad. So I go check out this regularly winning player who claims to be on the cash tables a few days per week, few hrs. at a time. He's played less than 1k in hands and was down around $2k. I guess he was bluffing?

Yeah I'm not sure either. They've always been spot on for me.

i dont look at stats plus roi wen im playin ,,,i did it 1nce in a tourny i was playin ,it was a rebuy comp on pokerstars ,,,and the table i was on was full ov players who were far superior layers money earned than me,,,which really put me off mi game ,,i ended up playin way to tite

Yeah I agree with you... Looking up the stats of other players is very helpful so you can know who the fishes and the sharks are.... I just finished finished playing a heads up cash game on pokerstars and if it wasn't for the table ratings I probably would have never found this fish that paid me real good today... I cleaned this guy out heads up after 500+ hands for a good pay out.... I choose to play against the weaker field than the regular's... Do you're homework and research it might just pay off....

Me too. I've seen a few folks, including this same person in other posts, claim they're "way off" but that has not been my experience. Perhaps some people are attempting to camouflage their stats (or excuse poor ones), or they've played in the stakes/games that aren't fully covered by the given stat site. There are several stat sites and I can't speak for them all, but I find PTR and OPR pretty accurate for myself, so I have to assume they'll be pretty close for others that play the same games as I do. They might miss a hand here and there, but overall they track pretty well.

As to the OP's question of do I use them while playing, generally no. I do run HEM and its HUD, so the regulars I play with I already have stats on. However, occasionally you get a rude loudmouth who loves to constantly berate the play of others, and boast about his own poker prowess. People like this tend to tilt me, so when it happens I'll sometimes spin around to the laptop between hands and scope them. Almost always, these folks are complete liars about their game, and I can sometimes use that knowledge against them.

I would careless about their stats I just play my game that's all it's matter to me.

nah, i wouldnt even look that kinda stuff unless your playing a high level cash game..
