In this game I was heads up for some time....the tounament was going on 3 hours and we we're the the last two left....my opp. wanted a first place trophy on his computer....so I "gave" him a trophy...or we could have played for another hour.....he was a tough competitor don't get me wrong so we split the prize money left....just wondering how many players like to deal after FINAL TABLE is decided..? |

Depends how much money is involved. I never had made any deals online. But I play in a couple of home game tourneys around my area where I have. I have played in games that are a $50 buy that has anywhere from 15-25 players that play and im open to a deal. I have also played in games that are $20 buy ins that has around 7 players are so and I am usually out for first. Thats just how I look at it.

re: Poker & Do you like to DEAL? I will deal if HU, blinds are big relative to stacks, stacks are close, and I have no definite edge over opponent. Most of the deals I accept are the end of STT when it is a crapshoot and opponent and I have been shoving back and forth while stacks remain almost the same. If I won a satty to a huge event which I would not normally play, I would be more likely to accept some sort of deal as long as money was substantial. If not I would play for first in order to get my first MTT win with more than 200 players.

yes i like to deal. i aim to be a professional poker dealer. that is all i can discern from the title. however i have done deals in both real life cash games and in online cash games, so I know how interesting it is. less risk for less money, ill take a chop anyday.

Alls he wanted was the trophy for his "homepage"...I did not...so we agreeed to split....I already know what it's like to win a trophy....kinda cool....but I felt like ending the game with a split...I can handle half of prize....thanks for your posts!

I usually decline deals for STT SnGs; above anything else, because the learning experience of playing out short-handed and HU scenarios is more valuable to me than the bit of extra cash I may insure myself by quitting early. I figure I'll fail to be ITM more often than not--so why not take the additional practice for all it's worth when I do get there? If it's a larger tournament and there's more money on the line, however, I would often be happy to take a deal (depending also on stack sizes, my perceived edge on my opponent(s), etc.), but since I don't play many MTTs, I'm rarely in a position to make such a decision.

re: Poker & Do you like to DEAL? As long as it's a fair deal for everyone then I wouldn't have a problem with it. I happened to be railing the final table of the big PokerStars Sunday Million 5 year anniversary tourney and I was watching how the guys were going about making the deal there. 8 out of the 9 agreed to their amounts straight away but one didn't and took ages to agree. Turns out it was the guy who was playing underage and he ended up having his winnings withheld anyway. Had to chuckle when I heard about that!

I like Peanut Butter and Jelly for sure As far as dealing I generally would rather just run over everyone and take the 1st Prize . But given the proper circumstances, chips in play, structure, players I am up against, money involved, then I am always up for a HU or multi-player chop. My largest poker win was when I was actually trying to get a chop going for awhile, couldnt get it done, people kept getting knocked out, then HU guy thought he was superior and wanted an unfair chop, and luckily I took all the money and a sweet trophy that I still treasure long after all the money was spent.
