| I agree with flushdraw, the only hope that jackson had was going all in on his second reraise to accurately represent the J. Ivey put him off the J from jump and when jackson didn't pull the trigger he only confrirmed Ivey's suspicion. Not that it wasn't a good re re raise, Ivey had him 4 to 1 chipstack and felt he had the read. as far as the original question about my balls, the answer, i think is happily no I don't. After missing the flop as bad as jackson did (the whole board including the 7 were higher than his plus the board pair) I like to think i'd have folded to Ivey's original bet in that situation, and that hand never would have made the tv. |

170,000 is only just over a minraise so maybe he could've made it a bit bigger. But still, if he did have a jack it would've made more sense to make it something like 200,000ish hoping for Phil to come back over the top. As for how does Ivey know to do this... shrug. He's probably got history and reads on the guy. Plus he's got a 4-1 lead at the start of the hand so even if this backfires he'll still be ahead. |

| ITS PHIL IVEY, one of the the all time greatest. How's anyone not gonna think he had a good read on Jackson. Ivey is not a donk, he's just plain amazing. I think both him and Daniel are two greatest readers. I understand that Ivey had a big stack compaired to Jackson but had a great read on em. I would never dare to do something like this, JUST PLAIN AMAZING |

Ivey knows what he's doing - he's just five-bet a pot where there's huge prize money at stake. His initial bet can certainly be a bluff. The re-raise could be a bluff too. But the five-bet?!? On a paired board surely you've got to at least have trips to be thinking about calling. Even AA oughta be feeling squeamish here. |

and getting them to fold the best hand. What's not to applaud taking that into consideration? |

| I agree but I think Phil played like a donk. There was no way jackson was folding after putting all that cash in (lucky for Phil he did fold). Jackson could of had a J and was slowplaying Phil for all he knew. The smarter thing to do would of been to fold after the flop he just got lucky, he could of easily blew his stack on that one hand. Yous could put it down to Phil being a genious and having the right "read" but I think he just got really lucky. Then again the same could be said for jacksons play, he played it bad too. Quote:

Also there was no slowplaying here like you mentioned on Jckson's part. People usually call with monsters rather than raising small, so Phil knew 2nd reraise of Jackson wasn't strong but rather to push him off; he went with this read with other dinamics and it was correct. Therefore a brilliant play. People need to think outside of the box. For the love of God, haven't you seen Durrrr's play this season on Hsp, how fantastic those small edges make up to? |

| Phil puts the guy on the 7 at best if he put him on anything at all and he was trying to rep the Jack. At the same time even if Jackson does end up going all in and Phil calls his read says he is no better than the 7, and Phil still has 2 overs for outs. Atleast that is the the only way I can explain what Ivey did there. Not to mention the best players in the world are the best players in the world because they aren't afraid to trust their reads, no matter foolish is may look to someone watching on tv. That's poker. |
