Do BAD beats make u think why u bother playin sometimes? Do you not ever wonder why bother playin this game when some people can get so lucky. Get's so frustrating when sometimes all it is is a lottery. I mean playin with your buddies around your house and gettin bad beats is just a laugh losing a few dollars. But playing online where there are big prizes can be a complete joke.

re: Do BAD beats make u think why u bother playin sometimes? poker I've dropped half my stack today playing the $3.30 knockout MTTs on Full Tilt. The flop has been really good to me, BUT the River has knocked me out of at least 6 games. So, yes, I often wonder why do I bother playing. But I know I'm a good player so I just try to forget it and move on.

Bad beats Blow, but when it comes right down to it they really mean that you are playing correctly and if you keep it up in the long run you will be a winner. I try to stay positive and just say nice hand and hopefully they will keep making those moves.

Im with you there joey. I never let it bother me. If i get my money/chips in good and then lose just reaffirms that i made the right play. Only time i get upset is when i make a bad play where im drawing dead or almost dead. Alot of people complain about getting sucked out on, but you need to read your opponents and know the ones who just wont fold. Very hard to bluff a bad player who never folds. No need to complain about bad players, you want them in the game. As said above poker should be judged in the long run, not 1 hand, 1 tourney etc.

Mental and emotional concepts separate... not the cards. |

i have come to understand bad beats are a part of the game and to be profitable you have to keep moving on. i know for sure i have given my share of beats but i have also taken them. as long as i am not drawing on pure luck and i know i played my hand to the best of my ability let the cards fall as they may.

I have taken many bad beats but now I have become mentally stronger (at least I think lol) and I take pride in that I get my money in ahead. Also, I love to say "nice catch" when someone sucks out, not yell at them, just "nice catch". It is hillarious some of the responses I get, such as, "it truly was, wasn't it?" and this jem,"Well there's no way I'm folding AK in that spot" to which I responded with,"uhhh, but you had AT....." Lol, classic one that one.
