A depressing column in Poker Tracker

After a post by 4D, I was curious as to how much rake I had paid at $2/$4 and up. Now I'm sad. On the bright side, I have a couple of hundred dollars worth of cleared bonuses, two iPods and a bunch of books from their store, so it's not quite as bad as it seems. Still!

I sat down at a H2H NL ring game on Titan last month, opponent had $40, i bought in for the max $50. I won a few early, he came back a bit. After 12 hands I had $48, and he had $38

Is that the total rake or the rake of the hands you won? Sorry if I'm confused. And I guess the real question, which I don't see answered, did you end up with more money then you started with?

Poker Tracker only shows the rake that "I" pay, i.e. the rake that was taken out of the pots that I've won. And the "Amount won" shows the net amount, i.e. after the rake has been taken out.

I have one site where i am signed up with a rakeback deal (30%) and considering i only play .50/$1 - $1/$2 i was amazed at how much i got back in the space of a few days.

I believe it is around 5% of each pot is taken in rake so think how much is put into the daily pot when you play, think of all the tables on all the sites

Theres a whole lot of money floating around out there

Maybe I should move up to $1000/$2000 tables instead. The rake won't be so bad there.
