Deposit at Party??
I've been recently thinking about depositing there saying as how loose people say it's fishies are. Tough the quality of support and thier software alone turns me off.
I'm not sure if that supposed looseness is luring enough for me to actually deposit there. So has anyone played there alot? What are your thoughts on the site, and what is the play like at the $10 to $30 level? |

I have not played there myself, but a co-worker there says the fish are plentiful as are the donks, and the gameplay at the higher limit levels seem to be good, or so he said and he's not even close to your caliber, so give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

You should talk to OneMoreBust.
He is a very regular player of the $11 SnGs at Party. Edit: Ah, on second thought, I don`t think he is as of a week ago. I think he`s in America and will have been booted. Ask him for sure, but sensitively. |

Chuck,
I'd put in a deposit there just because they'll give you free reload bonuses if you leave. I'm not sure if you can get those if you've never deposited there before. If you are going to play there however, I suggest you play ring games. The SnG structure isn't very good until you get to the 11 dollar level. Another good thing about Party is their bonuses are very very easy to clear. So worst case scenario, you can deposit, ensure you keep your initial BR intact with TAG play, then leave with your deposit plus the easy to achieve bonus. Then watch your email every few months for a free 25 bucks or 50 bucks because they want your action again! |

I just stopped playing there for a while because I had a bad run of luck (read: started playing badly) and lost a bankroll... also there was some offer on at PokerRoom, then PKR came along with its way superior 3D interface. But I've started playing there again recently since they gave me a free $15, which allowed me to get back up to $200 (until a series of bad beats last night!). Overall I think it's the best 2D site I've played at. The competition at the $11 S+G is soft. I haven't tried any higher S+Gs than that. |

I ended up depositing $75 last night just to try it out, and played two $11 6-seaters, and a $6 6-seater. I got overly aggressive in one of them (huge chiplead turned bubble out) and won the other two. I don't want to make an assumption on their whole site based on 3 sit n gos, but the competition is really soft so far. Softer than anywhere else I've played, actually. I've never had 4 people cold-call such a huge reraise by me; a super tight opponent at that point of the tournament.
They also just made an adjustment to their hand history format, so auto-import (and PAHud) doesn't work ATM. I also had a problem with a tournament summary, and after emailing support, they replied within like 5 mins which I was surprised about, and all was fixed. I'll just try building up my BR there with that $75 (which is now $100). I've got a mental block with ring games now and so I'll just stick to SnGs for now.Another thing I've encountered is that I used the $25 bonus from cardschat, but it doesn't show anything in my bonus section on Party...guess I'm just going to email them and ask whats up, and see what happens from there. Thanks for the input guys! I'll keep you updated with my successes or failures at the site, and tell you how I like it. |

I was a regular on party poker, and let me say the competion there is far superior than all other sites Ive played. players are loose aggresive ala Daniel Negranue, and can diminish a TAG players bankroll quickly. If your looking for soft competition I suggest Poker Stars or Ultimate Bet. Stay away from Party Poker its got the best players in the world.

I found it was easy to make money playing ABC TAG poker while 6-screen multi-tabling. OK I've only tried it once but play tight and you'll be quite successful. |

I know it's popular to knock Party but though I've dabbled with other sites over the last few years I've played almost all my online poker there.
The table looks a bit old and odd compared to some but the interface is easy to understand, the chip stacks have their value in text underneath (unlike some which really annoys me) and the couple of interactions I've had with support have been ok. The standard has always been variable depeding on levels and time of day but the recent US exodus seems to have made a bit of a difference in that things seem a touch looser if anything. Hard to generalise and I sat at the tightest $33 SnG ever the other day. The big difference in play is between the $22 and $33 SnGs with another decent jump to the $55s the $11 MTTs and below are chaos (but fun and profitable with the right strategy), the $5 rebuys I love if you use the rebuy trick (rebuy while all in) and are prepared to spend 10x the buyin. The MTTs from $33 are my staple and at $33 there is a decent mix of solid players, fishies and maniacs. At $55 and above the balance shifts. The MTT schedule is in flux at the moment with the loss of those over the pond and there are far fewer though they are still 2-300 entrants mainly (used to be 6-800). I don't bonus whore but there's plenty of them and they even give me free money in the casino sometimes. Alll the best, hope I see at the tables, possibly as the guy in the orange baseball cap. |

I was gonna say; you're only making me want to stay there more, NYR
![]() Another thing I forgot to add is how much I like the blind structure (at least at the 6-seaters); you start with 2000 chips, and blinds start at 20/40, and the blind level generally doesn't get higher than 200/400 - a level I have many times found myself at HU with other sites, but with 1000 chip structure. It's nice and slow; give me plenty of time to recover from the donk-dents in my stack. |

Yep, that's the difference I noticed when I started playing at PokerRoom - the blinds go up a lot faster there, and it felt like the Speed S+Gs at Party.
I've only played one S+G at PokerStars but they seemed to go up pretty slowly as well. |

I have been playing at party poker on and off from day 1 and have found myself back there almost full time. I have my ups and downs but I have consistently earned more money here then any other site (expressly in the last while) I like to think its because I'm getting better. They also send you your cheque form Vancouver so it comes really quick compared to say Titian where it took almost 3 weeks.
