i wonder how much action he got on 100 to 1

Edit: I read in another thread he'd lay 100 to 1 he was winning a bracelet this year. i said I'd take that bet.

After reading interviews with him, it seemed like he was well on his way in this event. I know he has a bracelet bet, with at least one person in Phil Ivey.

The bet with Ivey is $200K for each bracelet they win - so if Ivey manages to win one before the end of the series as well, they'll basically be even. Was wondering why Ivey was playing so many events this year

Otherwise, this one was pretty much a foregone conclusion when Negranu made the final table - the PLO final was much more amusing IMO.

It's great to see he's broken his drought. They'll have to put this one on the teli. Nice guy finishes first. Always a pleasure to watch imo.

I think he said (in his blog)he also offered odds like that over 5 years (this being the 4th) that he would win one - so he probably happy he doesnt have to pay out to loads of people too

Congrats Daniel

I though I had seen that in one of his blogs. No, they were not official Vegas odds. I looked over his blogs and didn't see it, so now I'm not sure where I saw it.

Apparently Ivey also bet $1 million on himself winning a bracelet. He was shoving every hand blind in the $5K 7-2 triple draw event LOL.

I read this also, and gave it a try myself at my local casino...The rebuys were only $70, so it only cost me maybe $1050. I busted out shortly after the first break. It was definitely worth it.

I don't get the "shoulda". I just don't get it. Why not just be happy for Daniel?

BTW in a weird way hasn't he been "earning" that fourth for a few years now? It's sort of like I dunno, overdue.

I wonder about an article I read on this web page:
Phil Gordon Answers Your Poker Questions - Freakonomics - Opinion - New York Times Blog

Where Phil Gordon suggests that Daniel Negreanu isn't as pleasant as he appears on tv. This is the first I've heard of this. Any ideas where this statement came from? Is it a personal thing between Gordon and Negreanu or something else?

Well, I can't figure how Daniel could possibly be super-sweet and nice 24/7. He's only human after all(hope it doesn't get back to him)...

Having said that there's a kind of a feud that's been going on for awhile between Erick Lindgren/Daniel Negreanu and Phil Gordon. I don't know if people in forums are making a bigger deal out of it than it is, but if you read what Daniel wrote about Phil, well, it makes it kind of understandable.

I don't have the link bookmarked but it was in Daniel's blog. He basically put down Phil and said Phil's not a real pro. It seems Erick must have said Phil didn't have much gamble, which then incited Phil to critique Erick's game, which then made Daniel feel like he had to protect his pal and before ya knew it, there was a Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan level feud going on.

It was a big dog fight(well if girl fights are cat fights than guy fights must be dog fights yeah?). Lots of "he said - he said" action. The fur was flying. Well as best the fur can fly when the fight's between guys who generally hide their emotions very well and so you can't really tell if they're fighting.

I for one am really glad Phil Gordon doesn't have red hair. You just know someone would have called him a fire-crotch and then it would gotten really ugly.
