| Daily Goals What does everyone think of the idea of limiting how much you are going to earn in a day? Do you see it as too constricting or a way of preventing yourself from becoming too tired or losing focus? |

^^^This - I always set hand goals - and play at least the minimum number of hands set. You can call me crazy, but if I'm on a table full of spewtard fish and on some run good, not you, the pope or the president himself is gonna get me off that table, lol. |

If I am winning, I'm going to keep playing. Unless I have to go do something else, like, um, work or sleep. Why would one set a limit on how much one wins? (OK, there is the tilt that one gets when one is on a heater -- you start to play hands you shouldn't because you cannot lose....until you do.) I can only play for so long, though. Too long, I get tired and my game goes south. Actually, stopping when you have won a certain amount would keep you from losing it, and would mean your bankroll keeps increasing. Maybe it's not stupid. |

| re: Daily Goals poker if your winning you better darn well enjoy it because sometimes it doesn't happen for a long spell.Just ask some of the poker maniacs on here and they will tell you players go through periods of card deadness! If your at a table and your catching nice hold cards thats catching the board.... my friend i strongly suggest you stay! |

| I just think being able to quit when your down (actually when you're not playing well) is an important skill to master. So many people end up playing their longest sessions when they're running / playing their worst because they're just trying to get back to break even. Those same people often quit early when they're up and presumably playing their best. Seems kind of backwards to me. To answer your question though, if you can quit when you get tired / stop playing your best, that's probably better than setting an arbitrary number of hands. |

| I agree that setting a win limit is silly. You could be losing $$ by doing that. I do have a rule for myself and that is to recognize when I peak out with my wins. Setting a loss limit isn't a bad idea if you are prone to tilt or running bad. I do like the time limit idea or # of hands idea. I tend to do the time limit myself. |

| re: Daily Goals poker I actually have limits for myself, both for winning and losing. However, I wouldn't come on here and give information that others should do the same.. I do it for mental reasons (even if they aren't mathematically correct) and it works for me.. |
