| Although I am from the UK I tend to keep all most of my money on poker sites in Dollars as it seems to be more widely used than Pounds Sterling Quite a few European sites use the Euro as their currency these days so it does get confusing Take a site like Poker Stars, you can have an account that deals in Dollars, Pounds Or Euros and I just find it confusing, I wish they would invent a universal Poker Site currency which everyone could use, say the Poker Chip which would be equal to one Dollar, .65 Pounds and .70 Euros, I know it wont happen but if all money was converted to a universal poker "chip" or whatever they called it, it would make things a lot easier, or would it make things more confusing anyhow I would say if you can use the currency you are used to dealing with in the US the dollar, in the UK the pound and in Europe the euro, basically whichever you feel more confortable with |

The problem is that currencies change value in relation to each other, so a poker site that did this would be entering the business of currency trading. As the value of a currency rises and falls in relation to others, people could theoretically time their deposits and withdrawals to make money from the poker site without ever playing a hand. The site would have to decide what percentage of funds to keep in each currency and could lose money if they make the wrong allocation. |

| I'm from England but 99% of games are in dollars so just use dollars. I think I've seen one STT pound sterling game and that takes it time to fill up. Even the "regional uk leader board" games are $1.00 buy-in lol. I think most offer you to convert into a different currency automatically if you sign up for a Euro/GBP game for example so I woulden't worry. Just stick to dollar games, besides which for a lower bankroll you get more play wth yor money on dollars as opposed to euros for example! |
