The Credit Crunch & Internet Poker
I'd be interested to hear views on the impact that the worldwide credit crunch is having on Internet Poker. Are you playing more, the same or less? If you have to tighten your belt, will you play less?

Gambling doesn't seem to slow down for anything. As dj said, a 'quick fix' solution always appeals to many.
An economic slowdown may hurt the BnM sites and resort travel, but I think even that would be to a small percentage. Unless you play higher stakes, it's not poker that will feel the impact. It's the high ticket items like houses, cars, big ticket vacations, etc that will take the first hits. |

re: The Credit Crunch & Internet Poker
yeah...online does seem to be busier. I guess it makes sense when you factor in the cost of airfare and hotel, or even just gas if you live close enough to a casino to just drive in.
I would imagine that all manner of local business may be affected by the economic downturn. I find myself figuring out if it is cheaper to drive to pick up something or have shipped to me. If it is cheaper to ship it I will buy it online. |
