Crazy WSOP ME idea

Right im at work kanny bored n jus thought of a mad idea. It'll never happen but i jus thought it'd b intresting to hear with other people opinions. Here we go:

ok ur $10,000 buy in got u $10,000 in chips to start off with. Now the only people to get paid are the final table based on their chip stacks. (these stats are taken from the WSOP 2009 final table. I know they started off with $30,000 chips but lets jus go with it anyway.)

So 1st place would earn a whoppin $58.9million dollars!!!
2nd would earn a nice $34.8million dollars!
3rd would earn $29.8million dollars!
U get the picture...

What do u think of it as this way? Intresting VERY big payouts and alot of pressure to make a final table. Im guessin it would either attract alot more ppl to the ME or chase away alot more ppl as it's hard to reach a final table...but someones gotta do it.

I think that this is a fun idea, but the odds of making the final table are astronomical, so it would probably make many people not want to participate.

Nobody would play if that was the case...

If anything, I wish they'd go the other direction and pay out more spots, not less. Interesting idea though.

Ummm i dont think its a good idea. Fairly silly imo. Who would put up ten grand on a lottery ticket..

s'ok, no offense taken. Just a crazy silly idea when i was bored.

Like 30years ago when there wasnt alot of tournament poker this was the format of some tourneys, needless to say they changed it for a reason.

Having more winners gets more people to play. Who would want to play in a tournament with several thousand other people in which only 6 are going to get paid?

They could always pay out all the people who participate - 10k each . . . or is that just as ridiculous?
