Country 'Only' games

I got to thinking (oh oh!) while browsing the PokerStars lobby about all the restricted Country Only games, both freerolls and buy-ins.

Being in California, USA I generally feel a bit miffed at the lack of USA only games comparatively. On further consideration, I am backing off feeling miffed about it. Mainly because the Solar System and the time zone issues make most every tourney starting after 8 pm EST USA only, well Canucks can play, but they're almost USA (). I'll always be happy to have tired, drinking Europeans playing in any of these games at that hour, they get to smelling real fishy......

However, since I think California has about as much population as Germany, seems a California Only game would not be out of the question.

PokerStars haves a strong Californian customer base but not a stronge German Base so thats the reason for the country "only" games,simply trying to attract more customers from other markets.
And then there is also the fact that non-US players have more sites to chose from aswell.
And not to dis-cretid your geography knowledge but germany haves a population of 85million and California haves what 35???

But ye its kinda unfair to all you Americans playing the take up 50-60% of the online poker crase that u dont get any of these special "perks"

I equate those "Country only" tourneys to Ladies only tourneys. They do it because they are going after a certain market share that they need to grow. They pretty much have all the Americans they can handle, but competition is pretty stiff for the Europeans since there are more poker sites that handle Euro customers.
