Counterfeit Cards - Omaha

Anyone have good links or advice on counterfeit cards?

Specifically when the board pairs does this counterfeit the cards?

And what happens with trips on the board?

As the reader of this thread can tell I'm still learning Omaha H L

Counterfitting is different in omaha than it is in holdem

If you look at say AK v 22 in holdem :-

Board comes QQ8JJ....the 22 gets counterfitted on the river and AK wins

(ie AQQJJ beats QQJJ2)

However if we look at similar in omaha, we can see the extra juice to the EV that a PP gives :-

AKT4 v 2267

Board QQ8JJ

The 22 doesnt get counterfitted.

(ie AKQQJ loses to QQ22J)

PP's have even greater EV juice against trips, for similar reasons.

Sounds good … What about this situation:

If the board shows a pair of threes does this now counterfeit a low hand? I’m holding A 2 # # and the board shows 3 3 4 7 J. Would that count for a low hand of 7 4 3 2 A., or would the 3 be counterfeit

NO.

You use the best three on the board plus the best 2 in your hand, so you would have an A2347 low for the nuts.
