Could you lay a full house down?

Ive just seen an incident where one player hit a boat on the flop on a 668 board and when a 2 came on the turn the other player hit too.

I could lay down on a board like KK677 if i had a 7 but could you lay down a full house where it required two of your cards to be used?

Depends on which cards were on the board, and what the action was pre-flop and when the board paired and such. It's difficult to lay down a FH.. I have before.

Play Omaha and you have lay down worse boats all the time.

I'm not sure if I've ever layed down a boat before, but I've certainly lost to a bigger one. I've also lost a boat to four of a kind a number of times; those can hurt pretty bad, especially if your boat can't be beat by any other boat.

It used to be I'd have trouble simply calling a bet when I have a boat, instead raising or re-raising as if my boat was unbeatable. Now I'm not too insistent about getting all my chips in if bigger boats are possible, or even likely based on betting patterns and preflop action.

In Omaha.. all day long. In hold'em... rarely.. usually on a double paired board where its obvious they have the bigger card.

Well if Daniel Negreanu could not lay down his full boat( and he's a great reader) I would say no full boat lay down for me.

If I would lay down a boat, I wold have to have a great read on my opponent, and actually trust my read for once. I still think I would be very hard to lay down a boat though.

that is a problem disscussed in many poker books.i think its not difficult to play fullhouse.

Need more information about the chip stacks, close to the money, stuff like that will make me fold a boat, if I don't have the best boat. If the board was AAKK7, if I have 77 then there are a lot of hands that beat me. Someone slow rolling an A or K would have me beat after I receive my boat on the river. I would probably want to see what they have, if I have them covered, I would definitely call. X

Depending on the board and how much chips is in the pot, but its something good players should learn to do.

Well both those videos were sets higher than the possible trips...and except possibly maybe in an extreme circumstance with an exceptional read would just be crazy to fold.

Lesser full houses, can fold them on rare occasions when a tight villain has made it clear they can't have a worse hand. I think I folded once on something like a K44JJ board with Jx because it was checked to river and shoved by a nitty, nutmining opponent...so either I was chopping minus rake or beaten.

Wouldn't fold with any amount of money invested though, and this was only against a very predictable bad opponent. Folding fullhouses is generally not a good idea, as you are more likely to make a terrible mistake than a great fold. Most reasonable fold of/c would be on two paired boards where its clear villain has the top card.

I could, but I'd have to be in a position where it was pretty likely a better hand was out there or folding would give me a good chance of finishing in the money.

At the moment I don't think I could unless it was pretty obvious that the other guy had me beat. I wouldnt lay down a full house in which I had a pocket pair but what are the chances of being beat there. Two full houses is a terrible situation to have if yours is weaker as the pot is bound to be made very big, its one of those situations in which you could be bust out very easily. I'd have a lot of respect of the abilties of a player that could fold a full house.

In tournament play I could if the situation was correct.
Situational:
Situational Read > Chips Stacks > Board Texture > Player Images > Near ITM > etc ....

In a Ring Game I think it would be very difficult, but could be done if you had the proper read on the situation.

Could be done against someone who you know is a tight player and would never make an all-in move on the board unless they had a boat and you have THE lowest or one of the lowest possible boats out there but its pretty hard...I did see a player lay down 5s full of Aces recently on a board of 3-5-7-A-A...the flop was 3-5-7 up against A-7 and the opposing player proceeded to go runner runner to take the lead...that may be an easier one to fold...if the situation was changed and say it was 3-5-7-9-9 its probably much harder to fold....its very believable someone may have played A-7, A-3 or A-5...its a bit harder to put someone on 9-3 9-5 or 9-7.

Had a full House Vs Full house then, Luckily i had the larger Full house.

I checked the flop as it was a very loose player i was playing.

i think daniel said it best its just a cooler if i'm beat. there are just some hands your supposed to lose a lot of money. but there are time i folded a boat. say i call a raise w/66 and the board come A55 they cbet and i 3bet and get called. now im pretty sure they got an A. the turn is a 6 they bet and i smooth call. the river is an A and they jam. I might be able to get away here.

it depends on the board. If i had to use both of my cards to make it then i probably would not be able to lay it down, but i could if i only used one of my cards to make the full house

Yes, I can lay down a boat:
--If the board has 3 of a kind and I have a lower pocket pair
-- if the board had double paired and I have the boat based on the lower pair or less

I won't fold these every time, but they are definitely places where I can fold. In Omaha, it's even easier.

It's a very tough decision. Depends on what the opponent did preflop, after flop etc... If you think, he can have K, just fold.

Yeah but if your big stask and its not a big dent to your chips always call but if its not..... chuck it
