I have another question to pose about coolers:
If you make the nuts, and get it all in on the river, and someone turns over the nuts, the same hand as you, is that considered to be a cooler as well?
Let me know what you think.

To Arahel Jazz's post: Badly misplayed on the flop, hardly a cooler

A cooler is when two people are tied to monster hands, usually full house vs. full house or quads or straight flush

I had one recently last month, deepstack vs. deepstack in a $3 rebuy.
77 vs. 66
Board is 8 7 4 6 6

Villain bet the flop, I raised four times cause of the flush draw, he calls.
We both check turn.
The river lands a 6, making it even more difficult for me to get away as the river put a flush on the board and the villain bets out at this point. I reraise, he goes all in, I call. Now I can say I have experienced my first runner runner quad suckout.

How about being the chip leader in the BB, FT, all fold to you except 2 that called. I have AK os, all in to steal and get called by a9 os and 65 os and the flop comes down 234? Is that a cooler??

No, that's a bad beat, same as jazz's hand.

A cooler is when you get your money in when behind, because circumstances and the strength of your hand dictate that you can not fold.

OK, I'll bite... what could I have done differently? Fold? Flat out call?

COOLER: This is a hand that you lose (usually a large pot) with that cannot be helped. For example...

You have KK. Your opponent has AA. Flop comes AKK, the turn card a 3, and the River card an Ace.

This example is extreme, but you get the idea. There is no way that either one of you will be folding this hand, and therefore you lose a large pot.

Apply this definition to the above posts and come to your own conclusions.

Peace

You totally just copy-pasted Lo-Dog's previous post.

Seems like a pretty dumb thing to do.

What is the forum etiquette on this peoples?

Now now, do not be mean, it was an honest mistake.
And as for forum etiquette, do not question anybody's intelligence here.

But some advice for the beginners here: I still encourage new posters to read through other posts before submitting the same post.

this whole debate is silly.

AK vs AA is only really a 'cooler' for the AK guy if the guy with AA is playing 90/70 or something. but that's just my opinion and the whole thing is largely subjective.

It looks like I win! Except AG is a little overpowering but no one seems to really agree with him except for my running mate. I didn't expect this thread to get so popular, even though I kept it alive for quite some time.

This is from the Full Tilt Poker forum and it agrees with RoyalBurrito as did I. Besides, I like mexican food crowned or not. Obviously, other people copy that forum, too.
